There Are Only Two Sponsoring Thoughts: Fear & Love

Title Quote: Neale Donald Walsch

No matter what you may face in this life
The good and glad, the struggle and strife
Whatever your facing there’s one thing to ask
Is it fear or love, that’s bringing this task?

It’s easy to see that hate, jealousy, and greed
Are all based on fear – you need to succeed
But even shyness and worry are based on a fear
Feeling not good enough, you shed many a tear

Whatever the fear – love is the cure
So unlock your heart and open the door
Love is always around, have faith and believe
Just reach out with love and you will receive

Love is incessant and all encompassing
It’s always around you waiting to bring
Joy to your life, contentment and bliss
So open your heart to receive its pure ‘kiss’

You can receive love and give it too
The world is opening up for you

About This Poem

The number of my old poems that I have left to share on this blog is obviously reducing over time and I haven’t gotten around to writing many new (shareable) ones lately, so it seems to be getting more difficult to choose which one to post next. However, after the last post of a new poem ‘Pull The Plug’ which tells of many fearful and negative influences in our everyday lives, this poem stood out as a perfect fit.

Nothing Stays The Same

Title Quote: Neale Donald Walsch

In this constant journey that is our life
Nothing stays the same
Whoever we are, whatever we do
Nothing stays the same

From birth to childhood, teen to adult
Nothing stays the same
Old age and death the cycle goes
Nothing stays the same

With each new experience we face each day
Nothing stays the same
People we meet, decisions we make
Nothing stays the same

Our thoughts and feelings are powerful energy tools
Nothing stays the same
In each moment of NOW we create ourselves anew
Nothing stays the same

With each new thought, good or bad
Nothing stays the same
We become much more than we were before
Nothing stays the same

Through the cycle of lives we come and go
Nothing stays the same
Manifesting all through our attitude and focus
Nothing stays the same

What’s the purpose of it all you may well ask
If… Nothing stays the same
Remembering we are all One, Eternally growing
So… Nothing stays the same

About This Poem

Many years ago, after several years of marriage, my husband said to me that I had changed over the years.  I was in my early twenties and had not begun my quest for spiritual and self-knowledge, so to me, I was the same person I had always been. I denied his observation, but thought that he was the one who had changed! Of course, once I began to learn, I understood the truth that we are all constantly changing throughout our lives, but this memory of first awareness of change, (or should I say ‘lack’ of awareness) has stuck with me.

Writing poems based on the concepts from ‘Conversations With God’ by Neale Donald Walsch were my first ‘quote poems’ and at that time I had no intention to write any more, they were just a way for me to focus on the concepts for my own greater understanding.

Feeling Is The Language Of The Soul

Title Quote: Neale Donald Walsch

If ever you are unsure of what to do
Look to your feelings for they will be true
Your feelings about something will never lie
Use them to guide you, go on, give it a try

Words are so easily misunderstood
We all have our own views, which aren’t always good
We all look at life in different ways
Understanding each other through our perceptual haze

By using your feelings you’ll learn to live intuitively
You’ll start to become who you really want to be
The path is not always easy to the light
So don’t be afraid to do what you feel is right
Your Soul will guide you always wanting what’s best
So put your feelings to the ultimate test

About This Poem

This was the first poem I wrote that used a Core Concept from the Conversations With God Book 1 by Neale Donald Walsch as the title and theme. Others that I have already posted are: God Is Communicating With Us All The Time and God Talks To Everyone.

What Would Love Do Now?

Title Quote: Neale Donald Walsch

When faced with a decision
Not knowing which way to go
Choices lay before you
Confusion blocks your flow
Worrying about the wrong one
Puts a frown upon your brow
Just ask yourself the question
What Would Love Do Now?

All experiences are beneficial
Even the bad ones play a part
They can break down the barriers
To open up your heart
No matter what the problem
You can get through it somehow
By asking yourself the question
What Would Love Do Now?

Whether just beginning your path
Or seeing the end in sight
It’s your course that you follow
Only you know what is right
Which twist or turn to take ahead
Rest now or onward plough
Always ask yourself the question
What Would Love Do Now?

A negative side has to exist
For the positive to simply be
So you can always take that view
And a darker side you’ll see
But if you choose the Light
A channel of Love you allow
You’ll embody with each step
What Love Would Do Now

About This Poem

When I was doing this part for yesterday’s poem ‘Is This Who I Am?’ (based on a Neale Donald Walsch quote) ‘What Would Love Do Now?’  came into my head. I started to write about this quote too, but then thought it would make an excellent title for a new poem. While it was fresh on my mind I Googled the quote (as I knew I had read it somewhere) and found a beautiful song by Jason Mraz.

Searching some more I discovered, and shouldn’t have been surprised, that the quote was from Neale Donald Walsch. So, I got on with writing the poem straight away.

Sometimes when I’ve finished a poem I read it and think it’s not alright, this was one of those times, so I went back to yesterday’s ‘About This Poem’ and deleted everything about this new quote. But, as with what usually happens, the next day I read the poem and see it with fresh eyes.

God Talks To Everyone

Title Quote: Neale Donald Walsch

Some people find it hard to believe
That a conversation with God is easy to achieve
For there is no one that God does not talk to
God communicates with us all, no matter what we do

The real question is, are you listening out
For God communicates not with a shout
God’s words may be ‘heard’ as a feeling so real
You’ll know it’s the truth from just how you feel

Or maybe the next person that you meet today
Will give you an answer to show the way
We are all One, linked to God above
That person is an ‘angel’ sent from Heaven with love

Perhaps on the radio a song that you hear
Will bring the answer ever so clear
A film, or a book that just comes to hand
Is ‘meant to be’ that’s the way God planned

So if there is anything you’re concerned about
Just talk to God in a whisper or a shout
God is always there with us, waiting to give
Help and guidance to how we might live

You may not get the answer immediately
Be patient and wait for you will soon see
If you’re willing to be open to whatever comes your way
You’ll be blessed with God’s Words, day after day

About This Poem

I had written a few poems over several years,  but in 2001 I had the idea to write a group of poems using the Core Concepts from ‘Conversations With God’ by Neale Donald Walsh as the titles and themes. At that time I wrote four poems (to be added) and the following year I wrote this one. I never knew back then that this would be the start of writing poems using quotes as titles!

Although this poem uses God as the focus, it can of course be read as whatever word anyone uses for the omnipotent and omnipresent force that we are a spark of. I do not believe that God/Source/All-That-Is (my favourite ones) cares in the slightest what word we use, the feeling and knowing are far more important!

Another way to look at the poem is the coincidences that happen in life. Many years ago I believed what I had been taught: coincidences are just things that happen, but have no relevance or meaning. But, as I began to explore the Spiritual side of life I immediately noticed how these coincidences kept happening, and the more I noticed, the more they happened! I now know that these synchronicities are about being in alignment with our true selves and are confirmations and guides along our way.
