I first heard of Nicola Tesla about twenty years ago, back then little was put ‘out there’ about him, so it’s wonderful to now see that he is finally getting the recognition he so deserves. A Way-Shower, ahead of his time, who knows where would have been technologically, if he’d have been supported more. But, it’s never too late to learn from our past, and use the knowledge to create our future.
Get into the Vortex… and then start the day In the Vortex you’ll have fun and play
Get into the Vortex… and then eat that food In the Vortex you’ll be in a good mood
Get into the Vortex… and then exercise In the Vortex your achievements will rise
Get into the Vortex… and then talk to your friend In the Vortex pure love you will send
Get into the Vortex… and then write that letter In the Vortex your frame of mind is better
Get into the Vortex… and then clear that mess In the Vortex you’ll make fuss less
Get into the Vortex… and then read a book In the Vortex with an open mind you will look
Get into the Vortex… and then make that call In the Vortex you will not stall
Get into the Vortex… and then take that test In the Vortex you’re at your best
Get into the Vortex… and then ask for that date In the Vortex enthusiasm you’ll radiate
Get into the Vortex… and then do your speech In the Vortex your inner guidance you’ll reach
Get into the Vortex… and then share a meal In the Vortex appreciation you will feel
Get into the Vortex… and then meditate In the Vortex to your Soul you’ll relate
Get into the Vortex… and then say a prayer In the Vortex your Source is there

About This Poem
I haven’t added an older poem for quite awhile, this one stood out to me from those left.
If you have never listened to, or read, anything from Abraham-Hicks then the idea of getting into a Vortex might seem a little strange! But, basically it’s all about getting yourself into: the right frame of mind, a positive vibe, feeling good, looking on the bright side etc… and by doing this before you do anything else, everything will then flow for your (and everyone else’s) highest good.
It isn’t always easy to see That we all create our own reality The things we think and say and do Will one day for us be true
As much as possible think positively About all of your life, this is the first key To unlock the door to your wishes and dreams Positive thinking is what it seems At first its hard to look on the bright side When it seems life is taking you for a ride But the more that you can appreciate The more your life will begin to look great
Controlling your words is the second key With positive thinking this comes naturally If all that your thinking is good and kind Words of love and praise you will easily find Always speaking the truth with love in your heart Sometimes will be difficult when you first start But persevere and you will eliminate hate There’s no better way to communicate
If love guides your thoughts and words easily Then your actions will show love effortlessly It’s often said ‘action speaks louder than word’ So do everything with love and you will be heard Whatever you consistently think say and do Put together will create your world for you Be love and find the good in all things You’ll be amazed at the peace and joy that this brings

About This Poem
My first poems that used a quote for the title and theme were from the ‘Conversations With God’ books by Neale Donald Walsh. Back in 2001 I had no idea that I would one day develop my love of quotes and inspirational poems to write many more poems and to build a website of more than 300 pages containing over 11,000 positive quotes –Spiritual Quotes To Live By.
There is a link page to my other Conversations With God poems on this blog and you can also find my poems featuring other quotes in the menu at the top of the page. (selecting ‘Quotes’ takes you to various other people not listed).
After this vision in 2014, I Googled: ‘Be Love, Seek Joy’ to see if it was a known quote from anyone – to confirm I wasn’t just remembering it, and to see if it was okay to use it on my Spiritual Quotes To Live By site, without having to credit it to someone, so that I could make a picture out of it as a divider. I didn’t find it, so went ahead.
The flowers are cut-outs from my nature photos I take to make up my quote pictures.
Of course, there are many who wisely say to ‘Seek Joy’ and I especially know that it is often told by Abraham-Hicks – who I have listened to and learned from for many years, but, the important thing is to ‘Be Love’ first. By always coming from a place of love the joy will flow effortlessly, and you can also be at peace knowing that everything you create for your joy will always be for the highest good of the all.
Recently I have been doing my best to add a new post on a Wednesday or Thursday and then another on Saturday or Sunday. I had the above all ready to go last Wednesday but it didn’t feel as though the time was right, so I left it till the next day. However, I was still reluctant to post and then at the weekend it still didn’t seem right, but I also knew this was the next one to add. I have no idea why I felt this way, but today on reading through I feel it is NOW!
Strange, but I do believe that everything happens for a reason and I always do my best to follow my intuition. So now it is!!! 🙂
Affirming The Classics: based on Desiderata by Max Ehrmann
Wherever I Am, I remain calm and tranquil. I Am always at peace in the silence of my heart. I accept all people just as they are. My Unconditional Love and Light flows in Oneness.
I speak my truth clearly with an open heart. I listen attentively to all the people I meet… We exchange our stories and always learn something from the experience. My energy of Love and Light attracts only those on the same vibrational path. I appreciate those I perceive as having more of whatever focus I Am placing… Their Light shines before me, as I also shine my Light for others.
I enjoy my achievements and my plans. I know everything always works out for my highest good. I follow my passions, so I Am guided to live in abundance, truth and joy… Working alongside others who walk the same path. I thank and Bless all those who inspire, in all the diversities of life.
I Am a Divine Being of Love and Light I see this in Everyone and Everything, as Love is All-That-Is
I gracefully change through the moments, days and years. I let go, and let God nurture me in strength of Spirit. I Am of the Light, therefore darkness is an illusion. We are all One, so loneliness is an illusion. I Am kind, gentle and loving with myself, and all others.
I Am a child of the Divine Universe. I Am as needed and precious as the trees on Earth and the Cosmos of stars. The Universe continually unfolds and expands for the Highest Good of The-All.
I Am at peace with my own connection and perception of God. I Am contented knowing others will always have their own perceptions. I Am truly at peace in the Inner-Knowing and stillness of my Divine Soul.
My powerful thoughts and beliefs create my world. I Am living in a beautiful world of Love, Light, Wonder and Miracles. I Am perpetually happy, because no matter what: ALL IS WELL.
Trina Graves – 2nd February 2019
About This Poem
Incase you haven’t read my recent posts, I am re-writing some of my favourite classic inspirational poems to make them into Affirmations.
I first heard the words of Desiderata in 1972 when I was eleven. The song by Les Crane was in the UK charts, so for several weeks it was being played often on the radio. I really loved some of the words and they stuck with me through my life, so when I began to collect inspirational quotes and poems in the early 90’s, this was one of the first I searched for. Although I always liked the poem, it never completely felt right to me. It was when I learned of the Law of Attraction that I discovered why: so much of it is negatively focused. Here is the original poem by Max Ehrmann with the two parts I always remembered in bold…
Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others – even the dull and ignorant – they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble, it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is, many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the Universe, no less than the trees and the stars, you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the Universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore, be at peace with your God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your Soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. Max Ehrmann
I’m fascinated now thinking back (as I write this), I can see that the words I remembered have shaped my life…
“Go placidly amid the noise and haste” Throughout my adult years, I have been told by many different people that I have a calming presence “and remember what peace there may be in silence.” I have always enjoyed the silence of being alone.
“You are a child of the Universe, no less than the trees and the stars, you have a right to be here.” In more recent years I have come to discover that not feeling ‘worthy’ has been a negative trait that has run through my whole life. I believe I clung to these words as they helped me to feel better about myself. But also, even before I heard these words, I had began to be drawn towards certain trees. In later years my love of trees grew and also my awe of the overwhelming magnitude of a sky full of stars, with all it’s potential!
“And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the Universe is unfolding as it should.” It was to be many years before I truly understood these words. The Law Of Attraction and that no matter what happens in our lives – All Is Well – are now two very important parts of my passion in writing to inspire others.
Did I attract those traits from the words impregnated in my mind? Or, was I attracted to them (to be installed) because they were a part of who I was destined to become? It seems to me to be like the ‘chicken and egg’ question!
This is the one hundredth inspirational poem I have added to this blog. If you enjoyed it, please take a look at some more!
Based on: Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace, by St Francis of Assisi
I Am a Channel of Your Peace I Am a Channel of Your Unconditional Love I Am a Channel of Your Forgiveness to All I Bring Constant and True Faith in You
I Am a Channel of Your Light I Bring Confidence in Your Ever-Present Goodness My Light Shines United with Your Pure Radiance My Presence Uplifts with Our Combined Perpetual Joy
I Acknowledge Oneness and Your Universal Laws As I Comfort Others, I Am Comforted When I Accept and Understand All people, it is Reflected back to Me Unconditional Love is My Source, My Essence: The All-That-Is
I Am a Channel of Your Love, Light and Peace In Oneness, I Forgive and I Am Forgiven Whatever I Give in Life, I Always Receive There is no end: Only Oneness In Eternal Love
Trina Graves – 28th January 2019
About This Poem
I have always loved the original poem by St Francis:
Make me a channel of your peace Where there is hatred let me bring your love Where there is injury, your pardon Lord And where there’s doubt, true faith in You.
Make me a channel of your peace Where there’s despair in life let me bring hope Where there is darkness, only light And where there’s sadness ever joy
O Master grant that I may never seek So much to be consoled as to console To be understood as to understand To be loved as to love with all my Soul
Make me a channel of your peace It is in pardoning that we are pardoned It is in giving to all men that we receive And in dying that we are born to eternal life
It is amazing to think that these beautiful words were written so long ago (St Francis 1181 – 1226) but are still so relevant in the world we live in today.
This poem is the only one I have in clear view at my desk, to remind me of how I want to live my life. But, in recent times, when I read it, I notice that although it speaks so clearly of the qualities I desire, and of how the powerful Law of Attraction works, it doesn’t ‘affirm’ these things. The negative aspects are mentioned and it is written as a plea of something to achieve, rather than an ‘Affirmation of Being.’
I had been thinking of doing some Affirmation re-writes on some of my favourite poems for quite awhile now. The other day in my notebook I found a simpler version of this one, written in January 2018, that I’d forgotten about (I will add this soon). But when I read it through I thought it was too wishy-washy and I wanted to bring more depth of meaning and to convey our own personal connection with whoever we are praying to. (God, Spirit, Jesus etc..)
Looking at these two re-writes I can see the growth I have made in a year. In the first I tried to stick clearly to the original with simply affirming the statements. My insecure thoughts were: Who am I to think I should re-write such a renowned inspirational poem? Which is probably why I never did anything with it, or have a go at re-writing any more.
But now, I feel more powerfully in alignment with Source to be able to proclaim these words, knowing I create my world with my thoughts and beliefs. I no longer just wish to achieve these goals of love, forgiveness, faith, hope, light, joy, understanding, and of course, peace, but instead I chose to consistently affirm my eternal connection and BE these attributes.
By the way, the poem may seem a little repetitive with lots of – ‘I Am’s – but this is for a reason: I AM announces the presence of God within.
For the poem image I decided to use the same background I used for the original poem that is on my wall (which is available toinstantly download at my Etsy shop), because purple has always been my favourite colour and dandelions hold a significant meaning to me.
Light Tomorrow With Today As aligned with Source you stay Law of Attraction will obey
Light Tomorrow With Today Negative thoughts are kept at bay Sending problems faraway
Light Tomorrow With Today All good things you’ll convey Happiness will come your way
Light Tomorrow With Today All worries are castaway Your joy will be on display
Light Tomorrow With Today All niggling doubts runaway Your dreams do not decay
Light Tomorrow With Today Life is fun, as a child at play Your bright future sets in clay
Light Tomorrow With Today From your Life Path you will not stray And you’re well-along it by midday
Light Tomorrow With Today Love and Blessings you giveaway Your presence is a healing ray
Light Tomorrow With Today Words of Love and wisdom you’ll say As your pure Soul you portray
Light Tomorrow With Today With your Higher-Self you’ll pray And your Spirit shouts ‘Hooray’
Light Tomorrow With Today The perfect way to live everyday For blessed memories of yesterday Light Tomorrow With Today

About This Poem
When I originally added this quote to my website (back in 2010) I now realize that I didn’t fully understand it. But, through the teachings of Abraham-Hicks I came to see the ‘Light!’
Although the quote is mentioning tomorrow, it’s actually about today. With focusing on all the good and ‘Light’ of today, the Law Of Attraction we will bring a ‘tomorrow’ of goodness and Light. There is no need to worry (or any other negative feeling) about tomorrow if today we are living each moment in positivity, and when a negative thought or situation arises just ‘Reach for a thought that feels better.‘ (Abraham-Hicks quote)
This was the first poem I wrote using this quote, but as sometimes happens, when I finished I knew there was another one to write using the same quote. This first poem was more of a fun one, but I wanted to write one that explained the quote. The second Light Tomorrow With Today was my favourite of the two.
I give you this gift Intending it to lift You, as it did me In the making, you see..
All the hours that went Into this present I sent My thoughts were of you And the time really flew
Love was in my heart Right from the very start As for you, I truly care My love, I want to share
The true power of thought Is not so often taught
What we do, and do not see
Everything is an Energy
Imbued in this small thing Is the joy that you bring To me, when I think of you And my love is in there too
With this gift, I impart A pure energy from my heart Love & Light, powerful rays May God bless you, always

About This Poem
I had already written ‘A Handmade Christmas’ a few days earlier, but what I thought I could use as a short poem to give at Christmas turned into something way-too-long, but I was happy with it, so I knew I needed to write another!
With the intention of writing something that conveyed the thoughts that go into making something for someone you love, and the power of thought, this poem was also short enough for me to make into tags for my handmade Christmas gifts.
Our lives are made up of many beliefs We learn most when we are small Most of us don’t even realize How much they affect us all
So many beliefs are ingrained in us We don’t even know they are there Maybe hearing things often as a young child Or sensing our parents despair
Although we don’t need to dwell on the past Sometimes it can be helpful to find Those negative beliefs that are holding us back By being dominant in our sub-conscious mind
A belief is only a thought we keep thinking So our beliefs are easy to change We just change it to a positive thought Which at first will feel a bit strange
By focusing on the positive thought And repeating it often each day Soon you will find your new belief is there In what you do, and in what you say
For instance, one of the most common beliefs That many of us have taken on Is the ‘I’m not good enough’ syndrome It’s a belief that is so strong
‘I am good enough just as I am right now’ This new belief will affect your life dramatically By accepting yourself just as you are The door opens to abundance, you will soon see

About This Poem
Another one of my early Abraham-Hicks quote poems. Although now I can see ways to improve this (and other) of my earlier poems, for now I am sharing them as I originally wrote them (unless I find obvious mistakes 🙂 ) but maybe someday I will update them a little… or a lot!
Your body is not the real you You are so much more than what you can see For the real truth is quite simply You are a physical extension of Source Energy
Source Energy is what some call God It doesn’t really matter what name you use It is limiting to believe that you are any less But you always have free-will to choose
Each and every Soul upon this Earth Contains the Spark of Source within With some it can be buried so deep Negativity can lead to a life of sin
With others their Light can shine so bright They are a beacon that shows many the way But Source loves us all, the good and the bad Knowing we will all become the Light one day

About This Poem
I follow the teachings of Abraham-Hicks as for me they resonate the highest truth. On my Spiritual Quotes To Live By websiteI have many pages of Abraham-Hicks quotes on various topics, so I was definitely drawn to using some of these quotes for poem titles and themes.
All of your life is always created by you Beauty is everywhere, if you choose to see it Create anything by thinking about how it would feel to have it Decide to live each day focusing on the good in all people Enthusiasm is a guide that you are doing the right thing Forgive and let go of all negative past events Go ahead and do what you love Happiness is a way of Being now, and not something to strive for Inspiration is available everywhere Joy is not in material things, it is in us Keep focusing on love, beauty and joy Law of Attraction is always working, whether you believe in it or not Make time every day for fun Now is the only time that matters Open yourself up to receive abundance Positive thinking creates a positive life Quiet moments make it easier to connect to your Source Reality is all about individual perception Stay young at heart by seeing the world through a child’s eyes Thoughts and beliefs create your world Use your emotions as a guide, if it feels good, keep on doing it Value all experiences, even bad ones (they let you know what you don’t want) Whatever you are feeling, you are constantly attracting more of the same X kisses and hugs are deposits of affection, keep family’s love-banks topped up You have all the power, no one else does, unless you allow them Zest for life will increase the abundance of joy in your life
Trina Graves – 28th November 2016
About This Poem
Always on the lookout for ways to develop my understanding of the powerful Law Of Attraction I got the idea of doing this A to Z from the following by the Dalai Lama:
A To Zen Of Life Avoid negative sources, people, places and habits. Believe in yourself. Consider things from every angle. Don’t give up and don’t give in. Everything you’re looking for lies behind the mask you wear. Family and friends are hidden treasures, seek them and enjoy their riches. Give more than you planned to. Hang on to your dreams. If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it. Keep trying no matter how hard it seems. Love yourself. Make it happen. Never lie, steal or cheat. Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values. Practice makes perfect. Quality not quantity in anything you do. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer. Stop procrastinating. Take control of your own destiny. Understand yourself in order to better understand others. Visualize it. When you lose, don’t lose the lesson. Excellence in all your efforts. You are unique, nothing can replace you. Zero in on your target, and go for it.
What are you thinking, right now this minute, Is it a good thought with you in it? Or is it a thought that you are not good enough You can’t do something because it’s too tough?
Are you thinking about having some fun Playing with friends out in the sun? Or are you thinking your friends won’t play Because they were unkind to you yesterday
You might be thinking of your birthday treat All the presents you’ll get and good things to eat Or are you thinking your birthday is so far away There is no point in getting excited today?
There are good thoughts and there are bad Some make you happy and others make you sad If you are not sure if one is good Does it make you feel better, as it should?
Try always to do your best To think good thoughts above the rest Whatever you are thinking, you can change that thought Into your mind, a better one is easily brought
Although there are two ways to think What is most important is their special link For the more often you think in one way Will affect what you do, and what you say
Over time what you think is what you become So think happy thoughts and you won’t be glum Whatever you are thinking is important you know For it will determine which way you will go No matter what happens you have the choice So listen to your friendly inner voice

About This Poem
One of the first poems I wrote ‘Where Is God?‘ was for children. I had not intentionally sat to write that poem many years ago, but it just came to me when my mind was drifting sat on a bus journey through the countryside. In 2013 I decided to have a go at writing some more poems for children that covered spiritual and law of attraction principles. My favourite one was ‘Why Did You Come Here?‘ and there was also one about reincarnation ‘Before We Were Born.’ This one was to teach children about the importance of their thoughts.
What do you want to know? For the answers will appear If not right before your eyes Then somewhere very near
Tapping into the fountain of wisdom Is so easy, once you know how The truth is, we already know The answers, right here and right now
Just trust and let the energy flow In whatever way suits you best For some it’s with the written word Go on, put yourself to the test
For others the truth is with their feelings With their intuition they lead the way They will know by their gut reaction If there’s truth in what you say
Maybe your wisdom is experienced on a wider canvas The world is a place of many scenes One day something that you hear or see Brings definition to your wildest dreams
Whatever your way just trust and believe Your quest has just begun Fill your life with joy and love And remember we are all one
Knowing the questions, or what you want to do Is the hardest part for you
Trina Graves – 20th June 2002
About This Poem
When I wrote this poem in 2002, I had started to notice all of the synchronicities in my life that had brought me to where I was at that time. It had been almost ten years since I became more interested in the spiritual side of life, and over those years whenever I ‘asked’ a question the answer would come to me in some way or another, but it wasn’t until looking back over the years that I could see a pattern of the answers appearing in various forms.
Making children do anything Will not achieve your true goal They are unique human beings With their own guiding Soul
They will submit to all your rules As you teach, shape and mold Bending to your whims Mostly doing as they are told
But deep within they know They have a true guiding light Smothered by fitting in It flickers waiting out of sight
So how do you let them learn To follow their own true heart? While still guiding and protecting Right from the very start
It is really all up to you In the way you live each day For even in the nurturing womb They know what you do and say
Do you follow your own heart Always aiming for your best? Through life’s ups and downs Anchored with love, do you rest?
The things you say and do Will of course have an effect But much more is said than words With thoughts and feelings you select
Young children absorb it all With no ability to understand Not all experiences are true You have the upper hand
Teach them by example Follow your own inner guide Be who you came here to be Shine brightly, do not hide
For everyone has their own path In the life they came to live Unique in its twists and turns Guidance by example you can give
Stand strong in your beliefs Hold fast in your integrity Show your love and appreciation Giving thanks for all to see
Trina Graves – 11th January 2018
About This Poem
This was the first poem I wrote using this quote as a title and theme, but after writing it I knew I wanted to write another one. ‘The Best Way To Make Children Good’ focuses on how wanting our children to be happy is something that continues throughout their lives, no matter how old they are, and is a more personal poem.
Quite a few of my poems feature the unknowing lifetime impact parents have on their children, not just with their words and actions, but their thoughts and feelings, because it is the most important thing I wished I’d known when my children were little ones.
If personal development’s something you pursue There are many helpful exercises to follow through A while ago I came across one, but put it aside Feeling unsure, from the answers, I chose to hide
The idea is to send a message to people you know And ask them to help you in your quest to grow By them disclosing what they truly think of you Warts ‘n’ all, requesting a completely honest view
The positive answers are a blessing to read Building self-esteem is something we all need But the negative ones are what you really seek To find out where your personal qualities are weak
By using these answers as a guide You work through the ‘problems’ identified To enable yourself to blossom and grow Living more as your Higher-Self, you’ll show
Recently I received this request from someone I couldn’t refuse, it just had to be done I respect her for how much she has grown I started to contemplate and not postpone
It was so simple to think of the positive things The abundance of love and support she brings But the negative… I just didn’t want to find Why was this? I had to delve deeper into my mind
I have been on my own journey of growth And now live each day by my personal oath To always look on the positive side And use my intuition as a guide
I found my intuition was saying, No, not this way The message is not the right one to convey For in truth we are all ONE and the same Together we grow, expansion’s our aim
All the varied relationships are a way to show Where each individual needs to develop and grow For every person is a mirror held up to you Reflecting all back, to give you a clue
Whatever qualities you see in another Whether stranger, lover, friend or brother Are only reflections showing you the way To expand your consciousness every day
All those niggling problems that you see In anyone around you, is guidance for free Look into yourself and you will find them there Waiting for your attention and loving care
The Law of Attraction plays a part By showing you what is in your heart It is impossible to see in anyone A quality that in you had not begun
So now I see this development exercise Is a tool not for self, but a way to be wise Of other’s qualities that they want to shift The reflections we find are an insightful gift

About This Poem
Hal Elrod author of the international best-selling ‘The Miracle Morning’ advises the use of this exercise for self-development. I loved this book and Hal’s miraculous story, and so told someone I know all about it, as I knew she would love it too. I had forgotten all about this exercise, I suppose because I never did it, so was slightly surprised when I received an email asking for my insight into her character.
This person has been in my life for many years and has been one of my greatest lessons of life. Years ago I could never understand why she was the way she was, and her hot-headedness led to a dramatic incident between us that sparked a rapid change in her character. Over the following years we grew closer and now, although I don’t see her very often, we have a great relationship and share a similar outlook on life.
I thought about how to answer her request and then sat to write some notes, but instead wrote this poem. As she knows all about the Law of Attraction (and that I write poems!) I knew she would understand my answer.
“There are times when we feel lonely, and it’s our illusion of separation that makes us feel like that in this 3D reality. However, the greatest truth is that we belong to our Cosmic Family, we are part of the One Source, and that link is always there, we just need to remember.” – Amira
Amira and I have never physically met, but are most definitely kindred spirits, as this has happened several times where I have been inspired by her comments, or in writing a comment to her, the inspiration for another poem manifests.
God is all around us and eventually If you open your mind you will see The little things that show He is there Whenever we need an answer to a prayer
Know that He will answer, if you wait Have faith that He will communicate Be open to His wisdom everywhere you glance For nothing that happens in life is by chance
Quite unexpectedly one day It may come in something you hear or say Just listening to the radio or watching TV You’ll realize that this was meant to be
The answer may just drift into your mind God has many helpers who are always kind You may hear a whisper into your ear To let you know that God is always near
The answer may take you by surprise God is communicating right before your eyes The slightest little thing can happen at any time You have to be open to see the sign
He will always answer it’s plain to see For God loves us all unconditionally

About This Poem
The ‘Conversations With God’ books by Neale Donald Walsch really resonated with me and struck a deep chord with my Inner-Knowing, so even the concepts that I had not come across before I took on, and began to understand their truth also.
In 2001 I had written just a few poems, but I thought it would be a great idea to write some more using some of the Core Concepts of the Conversations With God: Book One as the title and theme. This Concept attracted my attention because I had been noticing signs in answer to my questions for several years, so it was an easy one to write about.
The picture below I put together today. It was an easy choice of which photograph I should use, even though I have used it many times before! This dandelion was the first photograph I took that really opened my eyes and heart to nature, so for me it was a sure sign from Source in May 2010.
No matter what you look upon Whether physical or not Your thoughts and beliefs have control And show you what you’ve got
Do you look at your past with regret Wishing you’d done so much more? Or do you look back with understanding Knowing expansion’s what you came for?
Do you worry about your future life? There’s so much in the world to hate Or do you view the world you see With abundance of beauty to appreciate?
Do you spend your time each day Rushing from here to there? Or do you do your best to live Mindful of the moments you share
Walking with Mother Nature in your view So much can be seen as all the same But open your eyes and heart to reveal Nature’s awesomeness in every frame
Relationships come, but they can go Leaving us lost and maybe in a rage But every relationship teaches us more About life, as we let go and turn the page
Parents, Teachers, Employers, Spouse Throughout life many have us under their control Or do they just influence our attitude As we are free to choose our own role
When a loved one passes on in death We can grieve greatly and shed many a tear Or choose to focus on all the Love we shared Knowing full-well they are always near
The Law of Attraction rules our world With our every thought we do create Whatever you put your attention on Returns to you, it will always cooperate
Whatever experiences we face in life Improvement we can always arrange Change The Way You Look At Things And The Things You Look At Change

About This Poem
This is one of Wayne Dyer’s most popular quotes and one of my favourites too. It is such a wonderful quote because of it’s simplicity and absolute truth. Once you know and understand it you can apply it to everything in life.
Why do the ‘bad’ things happen Causing shedding of many tears? Atrocities, neglect, futile wars Still going on throughout the years
Why are innocent little babies born With problems right at the very start? Or ‘lost’ even before the first breath Breaking open their parents heart
Why do some people have to struggle Through a life of torment and dread? For them nothing ever seems to go right Poverty and debt looms over many a head
Why do fatal diseases like cancer Exponentially continue to grow? While cures are available, but not used Unless you’re alternatively ‘in the know’
Karma is one of the reasons For challenges we all must face But, we make the choice before birth To learn with experience and good grace
For our Souls are on an eternal journey To experience and grow through life Reincarnating in a myriad of roles We need it all, including the strife
The Law Of Attraction is also paramount An all-encompassing force, a powerful magnet Negativity or positivity breeds and grows Claiming all thoughts and beliefs that fit
We are powerful Spiritual Beings Radiating our energy all of the time Absorbing others emotional rays Can lead us to love or even to crime
Together we can unite our strength Experiments have proved in the past Groups of people meditating on peace Plummets crime, a true love blast!
As a species we are Awakening To the extent of our true power At long last The Light is toppling The Dark’s encompassing prison tower
The Illuminate-elite have finally lost the war They have raged through countless years Controlling and manipulating us all By producing lies and illusions of fears
Their grip on our lives has been brutal Overshadowing from the cradle to the grave Now knowing we are pure Souls of Light We no longer submit to be their slave
The rocky days ahead may be tough As their ghastly deeds all spill out But nip in the bud any anger or revenge Compassionate forgiveness needs to be felt
For in the grand old scheme of it all There has to be those to play the part Of the ‘bad’ guys, for the good to rise So love them all unconditionally from your heart

About This Poem
Well, Nothing Is By Chance… but this poem took me totally by surprise!
I wanted to write a poem so I chose a quote that jumped out at me from my long list. As I made myself a coffee and toast, I began to think of how it would shape and knew it would obviously be about coincidences and synchronicity. Not wanting to start writing without my usual prayer of thankfulness and asking for guidance, I first checked my emails while I had my breakfast, which led me to read a few articles from a blog I had been sent a link to a couple of days previously (remember Nothing Is By Chance!)
Years ago I followed many blogs etc.. that dealt with the dominating elite of our world, of how we are controlled and manipulated. But, I eventually realized that as I chose to focus my attention on the positive I had to let go of keeping the wrong-doings so fully in my sight. The only blog I continue to follow, from back then, is Blossom Goodchild because her channellings from The Federation Of Light are so full of love and upliftment and sing so true to me. And it was a link from Blossom that led me to the blog of Deus Nexus.I read the article she linked to about observatories closing and began to browse the blog. I immediately realized it was the type of site I used to follow, containing all the latest news about what is going on, but there was also a balance of ‘good’ stuff too, so I went to take a look at the ‘About’ page. There I read the poem ‘Consider A Tree’ by David Nova(the author of the blog) and I immediately knew this was a synchronistic link. The poem is so beautiful (please do read it) I just had to ask if I could share it on my Spiritual Quotes To Live By site. (permission was granted)
From their I found that David is the author of a metaphysical fiction series, so I checked Amazon and read the beginning of his first novel and was hooked! So I bought it. I haven’t had a lot of time for reading since then, so I am only a few chapters in, but it is very intriguing.
So, because of this synchronistic link the darker side had crept back to my attention.
Going back to the creation of this poem.. After praying for guidance and visualizing the completed poem ‘out there’ uplifting people around the world, I got ready to write… I read the quote again and thought of coincidences, but nothing came to my mind, which is very unusual for me. I read the quote again and thought, ‘What am I going to write?!!!’ And the questions of the first four verses flowed quickly. As I was writing them I was thinking this is way too negative! – I try not to have anything negative in my poems unless it is really needed to tell the story or help explain a concept. But, I knew that as there were questions, I would go on to answer them.
The answer verses followed easily but then I was writing about the ‘dark side’ in more detail than I would like. I finished the poem and didn’t even bother to print it out, I just let it go, thinking it was all too negative. Usually when I am not happy with a poem I continue straight on to write another with the same quote, I was thinking this would be so easy to do with this one, as I already knew I could write about coincidences. However, nothing flowed, so I gave up.
The following day I had another attempt to write a poem with the same quote, but still nothing! It was interesting that I just couldn’t seem to get the words for a quote that I knew I could write so much about! So, I re-read the first one and gave it some thought…
If I truly believe – and I do – that ‘Nothing Is By Chance‘ – then I was supposed to write this poem and not one about coincidences. And, if I truly believe in what I wrote – and I do – then I should share it… negativity and all!
By the way, because of the way this one developed, I also believe that once this poem is published I will easily write another using the same quote.. so watch out for that one too!
The Law of Attraction is becoming well known We are all searching for the way To bring more Joy and Love to our lives To appreciate each and every day
You are the creator of your own life experience Can be difficult at first to take on “How can that be true for me?” Most would say “I wouldn’t create everything in my life that’s gone wrong”
But the Law of Attraction is a powerful force Which we apply just by our thought It knows no difference, yes or no are the same So everything to your life you have brought
Always remember a positive thought Is more stronger than a negative one And keep on reaching for better thoughts This ‘work’ is on-going, it’s never done
It doesn’t matter what’s happened in your past All that matters is this moment right now By accepting yourself where you are You can go on to create a life that will – Wow
To create the beautiful life of your dreams Just focus on following your bliss If you let go, and are open to let it all flow ‘Coincidental’ opportunities you will not miss
Each day bring your focus on all The Love, Joy and Beauty around Live each moment with Inner-Peace And Heaven on Earth you will have found
Trina Graves – 12th May 2011
About This Poem
I have learned and come to understand how the Law Of Attraction works mostly through the teachings of Abraham-Hicks, which is why I am drawn to using their quotes as titles and themes of my poems. This quote is one that that many find hard to get their head around when first hearing of the Law Of Attraction, and needs full understanding to implement into everyday life.
By giving attention to anything you don’t like, or want, in your life, you are actually going to bring yourself more of the same! Of course, it’s impossible to never think of, or see anything you don’t like, but by being aware of your thoughts and feelings about things, enables you to choose whether to continue with the thought or change it to something that feels better. In fact, knowing what you don’t want, is kind of essential to knowing what you do want, just don’t spend too much time on the negative!
My thoughts of yesterday Were cloudy and unclear Overshadowed by the patterns Of all those who I was near
Unguided and docile I joined the massive herd Plodding on through life Not living as I preferred
But there came moments of Light That sparked my inner core I stepped on my path of truth That led me to the Spiritual door
Discovering the energy of thought Creates everything we live I began to understand my life And the affect of those I’m with
Now the negativity of my past Thoughts of hopelessness and lack Are dissolved from my mind Knowing Source Energy has my back
My power is in each moment Not the years, days or hours If I focus on love, beauty and joy My life will blossom and fully flower
What we are today comes from Our thoughts of yesterday They establish and manifest In all we do and what we say
Our present thoughts build Our life of tomorrow Are your thoughts right now Building a life of joy, or sorrow?
Our life is the creation Of our mind, is so true Thoughts of love and joy Will create a happy you

About This Quote
As this quote is rather long I did consider just using the last part ‘Our Life Is The Creation Of Our Mind,’ but once I began writing I knew I would use the whole quote.
When I first learned of The Law Of Attraction I was also discovering how much we are manipulated and controlled. I could see my past in a new light, which also gave me a knowing of how I wanted to change my life. For a while I focused too much on all the wrongs in our world, but I came to realize that whatever has happened in the past, whether it’s my personal past, the atrocities evident in history, or even globally in the present day, by focusing on any of it brings more of the same.
And the only way forward is to bless the past for the lessons it has brought, send love, compassion and forgiveness to ALL those involved, then let it all go! By focusing on being happy, at peace. and flowing love to all, in each and every present moment, is the path I now choose to follow.
Tomorrow never comes We all know this is true For once we get there Tomorrow’s not in view
We can only live each day One at a single time Being in the present moment We are living at our prime
Live each day in love and joy Focused from your heart And see them returned to you In abundance, if this you start
The Law of Attraction brings to you Everything you think and feel So now is the only time to be happy As you create the you that is real
It’s a short quote, in simple words But with so much wisdom to convey To live your life achieving your dreams… Light Tomorrow With Today
Trina Graves – 27th November 2016
About This Poem
When I began collecting quotes for my website Spiritual Quotes To Live By I came across this one from Elizabeth Barrett Browning and added it because I liked it. I realize now that I never really understood the meaning. Through learning more about the Law of Attraction since 2010, I now clearly see that by living today focused on love, peace and happiness will more easily bring a tomorrow full of the same.
I write poems using quotes as the title and theme to add interest to my website, back in 2016 I was working my way through a list of quotes. Sometimes when I’m writing I get other ideas for using the same quote, or I might not be totally happy with the first poem so I’ll write another. This was the second poem on this quote (which is why it is numbered) I will add the other poem at a later date.
Babies are born into this world As pure Spirits, into our care Most think of them as totally helpless But they are Awake and Aware
It’s true they need to be looked after The physical body takes time to train Unlimited potential lies ahead for them After mastering their body and brain
But these unique and pure Spiritual Beings Are learning and adapting as they grow Throughout pregnancy, birth and early years They assimilate everything you show
We are all essentially Spiritual Beings Therefore words and actions do not convey As much as the energy we constantly radiate Through our thoughts and feelings every day
Our thoughts, beliefs and perception Will build our world, our exclusive reality Children mimic from those around them Familiar traits to become their personality
Surrounded by nurturing, unconditional love Supported with flowing positive praise Encouraged to independently think A child will embody all these ways

About This Poem
Many of my poems are about babies and children because they have been the main focus of my adult life. I had my three children at a young age and became a grandmother at thirty-six, my oldest grandchild is now an adult (21 this year) with others ever fast approaching!
One of the main things I wish I had known all those years ago when my children were born was that they are like sponges, taking in everything around them with no filters. I guess at an unconscious level I knew this because I was always wary of what was going on around them. But I never understood that it wasn’t just my words and actions, but my thoughts and feelings that had an effect on them. It’s all so clear to see now in their adult lives snippets of reflections of how I was back then.
And now in my grandchildren I see them develop as mini versions of their parents and the people that surround them. I always knew that we are influenced by the way we are brought up, but I never realized the extent of how it all programs our minds.
Although, another interesting point is that some people who have had unstable or even terrible upbringings are able to put their focus on achieving everything opposite to their personal experiences. Two wonderful examples of this are Wayne Dyer and Anthony Robbins. Wayne Dyer had an alcoholic father who left his family of three children under four, his mother couldn’t cope so she sent one child and Wayne to a series of foster homes, and the other to live with a grandmother. Wayne chose to perceive this experience as a lesson in self-reliance. Anthony Robbins childhood was abusive and poor, it was an anonymous gift of a food basket on Thanksgiving (when he was still a child) that changed his life, as he then set his focus on being able to help others in the same way.
We all experience life In our own unique way No two people are alike In what they think, do, and say
From the moment of our birth Some would say even before We absorb from those around us Their beliefs, it builds our core
Our lives are moulded and shaped By our experiences every day Fuelled by all those beliefs Unchallenged, they become our way
We all have a story to tell Of the life we live and see Guided by our beliefs and thought We create our destiny
But some have limiting beliefs That can shrink their self-worth Only one or two know their truth Hidden from the rest of Earth
Others have tried to share But faced ridicule and jest Bruised and battered by remarks Their truth no longer expressed
We can learn from one another Others’ experiences we can take And mull over to decide Will they enhance the life we make?
So listen to everyone Tell their stories on their path Forget those that make you cringe Remember what makes you laugh
Often it takes a hard knock To open our path’s true door Disease, break-up, death Can Awaken us to much more
Or sometimes just one thing Happens that blows our mind Changing forever our future path Limiting beliefs we leave behind
Those near-death experiences Past-life recalls and even dreams Can bring important messages Much more than at first seems
Encountering other forms of life Ascended Masters, Angels, Spirits too Cosmic Beings, or just a UFO Brings true Awareness into view
We are now in a special time It’s been called the ‘New Age’ Darkness is being overpowered And the Light will turn the page
Onwards we will all unite Sharing our truth from our heart Bringing Love and Light to all Is a very good place to start
Speak Your Truth of Love Speak Your Truth of Light Speak Your Truth of Sensing Speak Your Truth of Sight

About This Poem
Sometimes (often in the morning on waking up) I get the title of a poem just come to me, and it will keep coming to mind until I write it. I awoke with this title a few weeks ago after someone told me of something very unusual they had seen as a child.
A few days ago I wrote ‘What Would Love Do Now? but after finishing and reading through, I thought it just wasn’t right. I don’t like to finish with not being happy with my writing, but I know the best thing to do is leave it alone and write something else. My computer wasn’t on to get a quote, so I just went for the words that have been hanging around waiting to be spoken! The interesting thing is that the next day I re-read the first poem and knew there was nothing wrong with it, it seems I just had to get this one done!
Although I have been using some of my poems on my other site since 2010, I very rarely wrote about unusual happenings or my spiritual messages etc.. I knew that some people would think them strange, wrong or nonsense! So, I held back. But when I linked up with Amira (bodyandsoulnourishmentblog)and started this blog I just felt differently about sharing everything, so now I just follow my intuition. Bless you and thank you Amira for the Light you have shone into my life in such a short time – I would not be sharing this poem, or my truths, if not for you.
I have had this poem in draft ready to add for a couple of days now, but for some reason I have known that it was not the time to publish. For whatever the reason, today is the day!🙂
Speaking My Truth – (things that come to mind as I write this)
I have experienced the indescribable all-encompassing love flow through my body that ebbed away when I began to question it, but left me on a love-high for days after.
I have received countless messages from Spiritual Mediums that have proven to me we do not die, they have told me things that no one else knew, and things that have shaped my future life.
I believe I am guided in writing my inspirational poems, I have no idea who by, it could even be just me (my Higher-Self), I don’t feel it really matters who, as long as the message is of love and light.
I have had objects move in front of my eyes with no apparent cause (eg. keys in a bicycle lock coming out – for no reason – and horizontally moving about two feet before falling, this was indoors.
I have seen numerous un-explainable lights in the sky, moving in odd ways.
I have taken loads of photographs with orbs in them. I can take a photo with no orbs and then ask for them to appear and they usually do.
I have had many visualizations/daydreams of meeting with someone and receiving inspiring messages for myself. See the poem Insight for my first meeting.
I have been told by many that I have a calming influence on people.
I have only been angry once in my life. I have wondered about this often as I know you should not suppress emotions and I have tried to work through situations in my life that ‘should’ have caused anger, but I have come to the conclusion that it is just not a part of me and I just needed to experience it once as a learning.
Update: 11th August 2018
If you read the comments below you will see that this poem was written for Amira, but at the time that I posted it she had not ‘Spoken Her Truth’ it was infact Amira who told me of seeing a UFO as a child. In one of our continuing synchronicities, Amira had written a poem about what she had seen, but was hesitant on publishing it until she read this poem. You canread Amira’s poem and her story (in the comments).
The basis of everything is vibration In this wonderful world of ours All the people, all physical objects All of nature including its flowers
Everything in life we experience In each and every single day We identify through our senses There truly is no other way
The five basic senses of hearing Sight, taste, touch and smell Are the ones we are taught to use And they do serve us quite well
It’s the vibrational frequencies Our organs transmit to our brain The world around us we distinguish But what does it really contain?
Science in the past has always Used physicality as a proof If you can’t see something’s there How can it be real or the truth?
Today the atom can be viewed To see what there is inside They’ve found just empty space Now the truth just cannot hide
But the most astonishing discovery Science has made in more recent years Is that the observer changes the outcome Everything alters as perception interferes
Science and Spirituality are merging Whichever way you look, you will find It is all about the Energy and Vibration Of how we perceive and are aligned
We all have another sense, the sixth Though many chose to ignore or forget The importance of sensing energy It’s been the most misunderstood yet
We all have this sense to use From the moment of our birth We use the energy around us For all our years on this Earth
Some people can use this sense So much easier than the rest They always trust their intuition Not having to put it to the test
Whatever we may do in this life Begins with a simple thought Created by what’s around us From the vibrations we import
Thoughts usually turn to words As we convey our desires and express Through the way we have learned But, have we really progressed?
A baby understands so much more Than we could ever truly know They are aligned with vibrations That to them so easily flow
If you’ve ever held a baby When you’re in a bad mood You know they’ll pick up on that And either cry or be subdued
All babies come into our world With so much love and wisdom to share They’re pure spirits, aligned with Source And can teach us how to be Aware

About This Poem
In 2011 I began to blog by writing about the photo-quotes I added to my website and Facebook page, both called Spiritual Quotes To Live By. I actually started it here on WordPress, but after awhile moved it over to my site. For simplicity reasons, I thought it best to start with the first photo I added and work my way through, so that I knew exactly what I’d used. However, when taking a peek ahead to what was coming I would occasionally think ‘What on Earth am I going to write about that one?’ Always wanting to ‘go with the flow’ if I was stuck on what to write.. I didn’t. So there would sometimes be long gaps.
At the end of 2016, because I had began to write many more poems I decided to write a poem for each quote instead. That was before I had looked at what the next quote would be! When I saw this one it was definitely a ‘What can I write?’ moment! But after praying and asking for guidance the words just flowed quite easily and I was really pleased that the poem ended up covering so much with what at first seemed a difficult title!
If ever you’re unsure of what to do This is the question that will help you through Ask yourself, “Is this who I want to be?” The answer will guide you to act correctly
Every second and every minute of every day You create yourself anew with what you do and say “Is this the greatest vision of myself?” you might ask Whenever you are about to carry out a task
What is the grandest vision that you can conceive Of your life right now, it’s possible to achieve Whatever you believe to be true Your life’s what you make it, so create a new you
Decide who it is that you want to be Express and fulfil this and you will soon see Another grand vision that you can aim for Your Soul is experiencing life and evolving more
Trina Graves – 30th June 2002
About This Poem
I had written several poems in late 2001 using the Core Concepts from Conversations With God by Neale Donald Walsch as the title and theme. On this day in June (the following year), I had just written God Talks To Everyoneto add to my list and then wanted to do another poem, but the concept/quote that was getting my attention was much too long to use as a title:
Your Purpose In Life Is To Decide & To Declare, To Express And To Experience WHO YOU REALLY ARE This Is The Purpose Of All Life That Is Evolution.
So instead, I chose to use a simple question based on this quote: “Is This Who I Am?”
Some people find it hard to believe That a conversation with God is easy to achieve For there is no one that God does not talk to God communicates with us all, no matter what we do
The real question is, are you listening out For God communicates not with a shout God’s words may be ‘heard’ as a feeling so real You’ll know it’s the truth from just how you feel
Or maybe the next person that you meet today Will give you an answer to show the way We are all One, linked to God above That person is an ‘angel’ sent from Heaven with love
Perhaps on the radio a song that you hear Will bring the answer ever so clear A film, or a book that just comes to hand Is ‘meant to be’ that’s the way God planned
So if there is anything you’re concerned about Just talk to God in a whisper or a shout God is always there with us, waiting to give Help and guidance to how we might live
You may not get the answer immediately Be patient and wait for you will soon see If you’re willing to be open to whatever comes your way You’ll be blessed with God’s Words, day after day
Trina Graves – 30th June 2002
About This Poem
I had written a few poems over several years, but in 2001 I had the idea to write a group of poems using the Core Concepts from ‘Conversations With God’ by Neale Donald Walsh as the titles and themes. At that time I wrote four poems (to be added) and the following year I wrote this one. I never knew back then that this would be the start of writing poems using quotes as titles!
Although this poem uses God as the focus, it can of course be read as whatever word anyone uses for the omnipotent and omnipresent force that we are a spark of. I do not believe that God/Source/All-That-Is (my favourite ones) cares in the slightest what word we use, the feeling and knowing are far more important!
Another way to look at the poem is the coincidences that happen in life. Many years ago I believed what I had been taught: coincidences are just things that happen, but have no relevance or meaning. But, as I began to explore the Spiritual side of life I immediately noticed how these coincidences kept happening, and the more I noticed, the more they happened! I now know that these synchronicities are about being in alignment with our true selves and are confirmations and guides along our way.
The simplest of things can bring meaning to you And guidance is received to help you get through The journey of life as you travel the path It’s amazing what brings a smile or a laugh
Although I am writing about my own journey I believe that sharing enlightens others to see And contemplate life and how it all fits in So my story of bus journeys, I’ll now begin…
As a toddler and child I was uncontrollably shy My parents were bewildered, they didn’t know why I wouldn’t go anywhere without screaming and fuss So it was always a nightmare to take me on a bus
With no car and living in the remote countryside The twice weekly bus was a vital lifeline to ride Although I don’t remember those first early trips Excruciating tales I heard from my parents lips
At four years old starting school I began to change Although still deeply shy, I wasn’t so strange My school I loved going to was a few miles away So I travelled with my brother on the bus each day
When I was about eight, in holidays I began to stay With my grandparents who lived quite far away One day out with my nanny on a bus trip to town I couldn’t ask for a ticket, all I did was frown
I knew the words, but they just wouldn’t come out It took a few more years for me to lose my doubt Then I could talk to people, just a little at first My acute shyness had eased, the dark cloud burst
Several years later, at fifteen I began to date A childhood friend, it all just seemed to be fate Our families were friends, so the weekends I’d stay Travelling on the bus to meet him on a Friday
The journey would take quite a long while So lost in my thoughts, I’d daydream and smile Planning our future together, forever more The time soon passed, it was never a bore
Although I looked out the window, I didn’t see The world outside, I was just focused on me Enjoying the delightful thoughts that I’d find Flowing so easily around in my mind
There were places to go together, and things to do A couple of years later, there were wedding plans too But from that time, the most memorable moments of all Were treasuring my growing, precious bump, so small
All of my hopes and dreams were coming true The bus rides I enjoyed as I thought through The years ahead with my own precious family I was young and in love, oh, how happy we’d be
Once wed I’d still journey, but the opposite way Missing my parents, I’d visit often on a Saturday Over the months as my pregnancy did progress The bumpy journey was uncomfortable, so I went less
My beautiful baby girl was born in early spring So all through the summer I delighted to bring Her out on the bus and wherever we would go She’d get attention, as a proud mother I’d glow
The following year it became much trickier to ride The bus as there was a baby brother at her side In those days pushchairs always had to be put down So it was very difficult to do much shopping in town
They were 2 and 3 years old when my last was born So I could only manage to journey if a sling was worn Snuggled and so cosy, the baby would sleep away So I’d talk to the others and think of games to play
My attention had began to go outside of the bus To keep little ones occupied, so they wouldn’t fuss Playing I Spy, or just talking about all we could see Through children, nature’s heart opened a little to me
One amusing incident sticks out in my mind, so well The things little ones say, are such a delight to tell Crossing over a ‘Toll Bridge’ I had tried to explain She thought coins were stacked up, to take the strain
The years flew by and they all grew up so fast I learned to drive, so bus rides were in our past But journeys together were never quite the same Without sharing the sights and playing a game
When in my thirties my son made me a nanny My heart and eyes were truly opened wide to see The world through a child, so innocent and pure I was blessed with more angels who awoke my core
Travelling on buses with my young grandchildren All so eager to explore and just simply having fun Flooding back in my mind, fond memories I’d recall Of my children, the same when they were so small
I was once again living in the beautiful countryside Separated, then divorced, my marriage had died Sometimes I would take the bus to Oxford city I noticed nature more now, so abundantly pretty
It was on one of these journeys when I was alone I gazed out the window, my thoughts on a roam Words floated into my mind from the great somewhere I knew they were for children and that I would share
‘Where Is God?’ the poem I recalled and wrote When I finally got home and took off my coat It was one of the first poems given to me On my journey to being who I came here to be
When alone, another thing I would often try Was sending thoughts to people sitting close by I had learned how our minds are powerful tools Enabling so much if you allow, and positivity rules
I’d close my eyes and send out bursts of love Knowing they’d receive it, blessed from above No one we encounter is ever simply by chance As we go through life in our law of attraction dance
I would sometimes send out healing rays of energy With my eyes closed I focus, I didn’t need to see Often I’d know I’d finished and then opened my eye They were getting off the bus, I blessed them goodbye
In more recent years I’ve spent three hours or more On buses to visit family, the time is never a chore Now I adore the abundance of nature out of the window While listening to Abraham-Hicks, my Soul is aglow
Through my bus journeys of life, I have conveyed My thoughts and directions, how my route was laid Why not reflect on your own life and see what you find? The simplest of things can bring Awareness to mind
Trina Graves – January 2017
About This Poem
It’s probably no surprise that the idea to do a poem about the bus journeys through my life came to me when I was on a bus! I jotted down a few notes at that time but it was a few years later that I actually sat to write it! With so many bus journey stories to share I always knew it would be a long poem, so I guess I just put it off. Unlike all my other poems, this one was not written on one particular day but over several days.
Everything in this poem is a true part of my life. I would love to know the reason why until the day I started school my parents could not take me anywhere without me screaming the place down! The only thing I remember about it all is ‘hiding’ with my arm bent across my face so no one could see me! 🙂 My mum tried everything to console me but eventually discovered it was best to just ignore me! So, this is the only part that I don’t actually remember, but like I say, my parents certainly told me, many times!
The poem that was given to me on a bus is on this blog:Where IsGod? if you would like to read it.
