I Am A Channel Of Your Love, Light & Peace

Based on: Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace, by St Francis of Assisi

I Am a Channel of Your Peace
I Am a Channel of Your Unconditional Love
I Am a Channel of Your Forgiveness to All
I Bring Constant and True Faith in You

I Am a Channel of Your Light
I Bring Confidence in Your Ever-Present Goodness
My Light Shines United with Your Pure Radiance
My Presence Uplifts with Our Combined Perpetual Joy

I Acknowledge Oneness and Your Universal Laws
As I Comfort Others, I Am Comforted
When I Accept and Understand All people, it is Reflected back to Me
Unconditional Love is My Source, My Essence: The All-That-Is

I Am a Channel of Your Love, Light and Peace
In Oneness, I Forgive and I Am Forgiven
Whatever I Give in Life, I Always Receive
There is no end: Only Oneness In Eternal Love

Trina Graves – 28th January 2019

About This Poem

I have always loved the original poem by St Francis:

Make me a channel of your peace
Where there is hatred let me bring your love
Where there is injury, your pardon Lord
And where there’s doubt, true faith in You.

Make me a channel of your peace
Where there’s despair in life let me bring hope
Where there is darkness, only light
And where there’s sadness ever joy

O Master grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console
To be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love with all my Soul

Make me a channel of your peace
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned
It is in giving to all men that we receive
And in dying that we are born to eternal life

It is amazing to think that these beautiful words were written so long ago (St Francis 1181 – 1226) but are still so relevant in the world we live in today.

This poem is the only one I have in clear view at my desk, to remind me of how I want to live my life. But, in recent times, when I read it, I notice that although it speaks so clearly of the qualities I desire, and of how the powerful Law of Attraction works, it doesn’t ‘affirm’ these things. The negative aspects are mentioned and it is written as a plea of something to achieve, rather than an ‘Affirmation of Being.’

I had been thinking of doing some Affirmation re-writes on some of my favourite poems for quite awhile now. The other day in my notebook I found a simpler version of this one, written in January 2018, that I’d forgotten about (I will add this soon). But when I read it through I thought it was too wishy-washy and I wanted to bring more depth of meaning and to convey our own personal connection with whoever we are praying to. (God, Spirit, Jesus etc..)

Looking at these two re-writes I can see the growth I have made in a year.  In the first I tried to stick clearly to the original with simply affirming the statements. My insecure thoughts were: Who am I to think I should re-write such a renowned inspirational poem? Which is probably why I never did anything with it, or have a go at re-writing any more.

But now, I feel more powerfully in alignment with Source to be able to proclaim these words, knowing I create my world with my thoughts and beliefs. I no longer just wish to achieve these goals of love, forgiveness, faith, hope, light, joy, understanding, and of course, peace, but instead I chose to consistently affirm my eternal connection and BE these attributes.

By the way, the poem may seem a little repetitive with lots of  – ‘I Am’s – but this is for a reason: I AM announces the presence of God within

  1. Oh wow Trina!!!!! This is a masterpiece of affirmative prayer!!!! St. Francis of Assisi’s prayer was always one of my most favorite ones, and you are so right as you said it’s actually a plea, rather than an affirmative prayer…Now I understand the comments you made in my blog, it all makes so much sense. You chose the perfect color for this prayer, as purple is such a spiritual color. I am in awe of this poem dear friend!!! Thank you!!! 🙏 Great courageous work! 🐯 !
Sending you love, light and gratitude for this great inspirational work,

    • Thank you Amira. Divine Timing is at play and I feel it is time all of us Lightworkers of today to acknowledge and bring forth our Divine Power clearly for everyone to see, uniting in Oneness to be Wayshowers to those who are just waking.

I so often read the original poem and lately have been searching for affirmations to proclaim daily my intentions, also to have words to lift my vibration – so it naturally followed to re-write this beautiful prayer to bring it up-to-date for myself, and then, in Oneness I know it will benefit other Lightworkers and also those seeking the Light.

I am just off to see my grandson as it’s his 7th birthday today, but later I will email you to explain more on my comments to you.
      Blessings of Love, Light & Peace ❤ ❤ ❤
