Pull The Plug

News on the radio every hour
Delivered in papers every day
But is it really words of truth
In what they all will say?

On TV too, there’s no escape
From the focus being taught
Consistently throughout life
Infectious ‘fear’ is caught

Instilling in all minds
Of everyone young and old
You have to Pull The Plug
To get free from the mould

Light and Peace are the powers
That are dominant everywhere
All people want to be happy
And all have love to share

******************************

Adverts have a goal
To sell, no matter how
Tactics taught by science
Ensure they grab you NOW!

Not only on television
But wherever you go..
Brainwashing incites consumerism
Making it harder to say NO!

Pull The Plug on media adverts
To eliminate their sales pitch
Question all other advertising
To not fall into their ditch

Of course, some are good items
But you can sense this at the start
If you follow your intuition
Always guided by your heart

******************************

By far the greatest impact
In recent times is Smart Technology
It enables an immense advance
In our linking and learning capacity

But as with most things in life
There is a darker side as well
Addictive and impressionable
The full damage?.. Only time will tell

Pull The Plug on using 24/7
Chat more with those around
If not alone ignore the beeps
Or better still, turn off the sound

Disconnect from negativity
In all its myriad of ways
Look up at the actual world
And live the reality of your days

******************************

Gossip comes in many forms
Spoken or read in a magazine
Social media contains so much
The actual truth is hard to glean

Infectious it causes drama
As it’s so rarely positive
You have to ask the question
“Is this how I want to live?”

Pull The Plug on the ‘Glossies’
They’re full of gossip and adverts
Don’t speak the words you hear
To not expand any hurts

Weed your social media
Unfollow, unfriend the negative
You’ll radiate and attract
The Light and Love you give

******************************

Gaming is another addiction
Taking hold in modern times
Mostly focused on violence
Fighting, killing and other crimes

Although it is all ‘pretend’
It still impresses on the mind
With hours of this ‘enjoyment’
Aggressive thoughts overwhelm the kind

Play more games in the physical
With the young especially
Being present in the interactions
Develops much more than what you see

Pull The Plug on all violence
If you wish to be of the Light
Shining brightly with your Love
Acts of violence are NEVER right

******************************

Music is deeply impressionable
It’s vibration will easily flow
Memories and emotions surface
From all music, fast and slow

Adding words increases the depth
Often heard, imprints on the mind
Many decades pass without hearing
Music starts, and the words you find

Does it make you feel good?
Pull The Plug if it doesn’t lift
Your heart and Soul to the rhythm
Music and song are a pure gift

If they always bring you higher
They develop and expand your core
Remember the vibration and words
Become a part of you forever more

******************************

Never give away Your Power
Speak out clearly with your voice
No matter who says what
You always have a choice

Don’t feel intimidated or lost
Even by doctors who ‘know best’
You hold all the real power
No matter the result of any test

Live by your intuition
Pull The Plug and escape the herd
You’ll begin to see the truth
So much they do is really absurd!

Your beliefs shape your thoughts
And they both create your reality
The placebo effect is absolute proof
Your mind controls your physicality

About This Poem

This was another poem that started with an idea that came to me when answering a comment on Amira’s (BodyAndSoulNourishmentBlog.) Unfortunately I forgot to write down the post it was on, but my comment was:

I too, stopped viewing (or listening to) all mainstream news many years ago, and not long after pulled the plug on TV viewing. I also diligently guard my social media to ensure I only receive positive posts. As Amira says, we now have so many inspirational things to listen to and watch. And as each of us make these choices of Light, Love & Peace, we radiate our more powerful force and we are changing our world.

Years ago I thought nothing of doing most of the things mentioned in this poem, but my awareness of the negativity grew once I had children and began to realize how much they are being fed each day with the things I took for granted as being okay to do. And then, once I began to consciously walk my Spiritual Path I slowly began to see the damage they do and have now ceased or tightly control my allowing of these to be in my life.

I could write so much about all of these things, infact, as I prepared the draft for this post I did write abundantly on each point, but now – today, before I publish – I know it is not what I should do, so I’ve deleted that and I’ll just tell of one experience:

For several years before I learned of the fact, I believed that certain types of music had the ability to heal. I also acknowledged that music could change how we feel. This was made very evident when one of  my granddaughters was about seven (she’s now sixteen). Being home-schooled meant that she was at home more than most other children and during the day there was often music of all types being played in the background. Over a period of time it came to my daughters attention that whenever sad music or songs were played her daughter would start crying. Once she realized what was causing the tears she ensured that only uplifting music was played. Testing the theory out every-once-in-awhile it took several months for the effect of music to not have such a dramatic effect on her daughter, but it was a wonderful lesson the whole family learned.

Another thing I would like to add is… this poem was written at the beginning of December last year, and now.. only a few weeks later.. for me (and I believe others too) it is so ‘old news’ because the Powerful Light Energies of this new year have escalated to such an extent that the following quote from the poem is so much more of the focus now.

Light Tomorrow With Today (1)

Title Quote: Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Light Tomorrow With Today
As aligned with Source you stay
Law of Attraction will obey

Light Tomorrow With Today
Negative thoughts are kept at bay
Sending problems faraway

Light Tomorrow With Today
All good things you convey
Happiness comes your way

Light Tomorrow With Today
All worries are castaway
Your joy will be on display

Light Tomorrow With Today
All niggling doubts runaway
Your dreams do not decay

Light Tomorrow With Today
Life is fun, as a child at play
Your bright future set in clay

Light Tomorrow With Today
From your Life Path you will not stray
And you’re well-along it by midday

Light Tomorrow With Today
Love and Blessings you giveaway
Your presence is a healing ray

Light Tomorrow With Today
Words of love and wisdom you say
As your pure Soul you portray

Light Tomorrow With Today
With your Higher-Self you pray
And your Spirit shouts ‘Hooray’

Light Tomorrow With Today
The perfect way to live everyday
For blessed memories of yesterday
Light Tomorrow With Today

About This Poem

When I originally added this quote to my website (back in 2010) I now realize that I didn’t fully understand it. But, through the teachings of Abraham-Hicks I came to see the ‘Light!’

Although the quote is mentioning tomorrow, it’s actually about today. With focusing on all the good and ‘Light’ of today, the Law Of Attraction we will bring a ‘tomorrow’ of goodness and Light. There is no need to worry (or any other negative feeling) about tomorrow if today we are living each moment in positivity, and when a negative thought or situation arises just ‘Reach for a thought that feels better.‘ (Abraham-Hicks quote)

This was the first poem I wrote using this quote, but as sometimes happens, when I finished I knew there was another one to write using the same quote. This first poem was more of a fun one, but I wanted to write one that explained the quote. The second Light Tomorrow With Today was my favourite of the two.

Love Changes Everything

“I’m never going to get married
My animals are all I need”
The young girl would often say
To whoever would take heed

Then one day she met someone
And took a chance of fate
Would he be the one for her
The consequence may be too great

He thought she was too young for him
But she did not agree
The wait seemed endless for him to choose
Somehow she’d make him see

Before too long they were together
A couple, an item, a pair
Their love for each other began to grow
As more time they began to share

The future for her began to change
Now there were new ideas to explore
How happy she’d be with him by her side
To love and be loved forever more

At first there were the wedding plans
Which had to change when fate stepped in
A baby on the way to complete the change
So much joy these events will bring

Due to a difference in religion
Their marriage will not be trouble-free
But love will carry them over many hurdles
Respect and truth, give and take, cést la vie

About This Poem

This poem is about my youngest daughter and the beginning of her relationship that began with many doubts because of a difference in religion (she was non-religious, but brought up in a family background of Christianity, and he was a Jehovah’s Witness) and an age gap of eleven years – which although at some stages makes no difference, did at that point because she was only eighteen.

They married in May 2002 and now have one daughter (16) and three sons (14, 6, 4), along with two dalmatian dogs (who have had two litters of puppies in recent years!) As with all marriages there have been many ups and downs, but their love gets them through.

My daughter is now more Spiritually inclined and her husband is no longer a Jehovah’s Witness, but still believes in many of their teachings. Their children have not been brought up to follow any ‘religion’ but have learned from their father about his faith and from their mother of her thoughts and ideas. And of course, I talk to them about my own Spiritual belief and, with the older ones, encourage them to search for their own truth.

Nothing Stays The Same

Title Quote: Neale Donald Walsch

In this constant journey that is our life
Nothing stays the same
Whoever we are, whatever we do
Nothing stays the same

From birth to childhood, teen to adult
Nothing stays the same
Old age and death the cycle goes
Nothing stays the same

With each new experience we face each day
Nothing stays the same
People we meet, decisions we make
Nothing stays the same

Our thoughts and feelings are powerful energy tools
Nothing stays the same
In each moment of NOW we create ourselves anew
Nothing stays the same

With each new thought, good or bad
Nothing stays the same
We become much more than we were before
Nothing stays the same

Through the cycle of lives we come and go
Nothing stays the same
Manifesting all through our attitude and focus
Nothing stays the same

What’s the purpose of it all you may well ask
If… Nothing stays the same
Remembering we are all One, Eternally growing
So… Nothing stays the same

About This Poem

Many years ago, after several years of marriage, my husband said to me that I had changed over the years.  I was in my early twenties and had not begun my quest for spiritual and self-knowledge, so to me, I was the same person I had always been. I denied his observation, but thought that he was the one who had changed! Of course, once I began to learn, I understood the truth that we are all constantly changing throughout our lives, but this memory of first awareness of change, (or should I say ‘lack’ of awareness) has stuck with me.

Writing poems based on the concepts from ‘Conversations With God’ by Neale Donald Walsch were my first ‘quote poems’ and at that time I had no intention to write any more, they were just a way for me to focus on the concepts for my own greater understanding.
