Tomorrow never comes We all know this is true For once we get there Tomorrow’s not in view
We can only live each day One at a single time Being in the present moment We are living at our prime
Live each day in love and joy Focused from your heart And see them returned to you In abundance, if this you start
The Law of Attraction brings to you Everything you think and feel So now is the only time to be happy As you create the you that is real
It’s a short quote, in simple words But with so much wisdom to convey To live your life achieving your dreams… Light Tomorrow With Today

About This Poem
When I began collecting quotes for my website Spiritual Quotes To Live By I came across this one from Elizabeth Barrett Browning and added it because I liked it. I realize now that I never really understood the meaning. Through learning more about the Law of Attraction since 2010, I now clearly see that by living today focused on love, peace and happiness will more easily bring a tomorrow full of the same.
I write poems using quotes as the title and theme to add interest to my website, back in 2016 I was working my way through a list of quotes. Sometimes when I’m writing I get other ideas for using the same quote, or I might not be totally happy with the first poem so I’ll write another. This was the second poem on this quote (which is why it is numbered) I will add the other poem at a later date.
Many people shape our lives Especially during the younger years With us through the blessed joys And there to wipe our tears
Some are as large-as-life Their presence takes centre stage It’s easy to see how their character Is written on our biography page
But some are quiet in nature Their presence ever-serene Life continues on around them As though they’re hardly seen
They may not have much to say But their words are kind and pure Just being in their company Will affect you at your core
They are the ink to our pen Without them we couldn’t write The story of our lives, no words Would show in dark or light
Their flow brings our life to focus Through the years their aura imparts Blessing us with their lighted goodness That moulds and forms our hearts
Jennie, my maternal grandmother Was one, a truly gentle Soul Petit in stature, not essence An epitome of the mother role
A mother in time of war I can’t even imagine the fear Daily she must have felt In London with bombs so near
Giving up home and possessions Evacuating, for her daughters sake Many years would pass by before Their own home she could re-make
Times were hard and relentless Death and Illness she had to face But her beloved five children Were cocooned in her warm embrace
Years passed as they all fled her nest Moving on, to create their own family And onward through the generations Her tranquillity shone out so clearly
On the passing of her husband Alfred Frail and alone, the future bleak? She had another lesson to teach us all How to live on? What should you seek?
The blessing of her life was her family And through them she developed strength Staying with grandchildren brought her such joy Her years continued for a much greater length
It’s now been 24 years since she moved To our true home in the Heavens above But what she left behind in many hearts Is her pure and simple, unconditional love
Gentle was Jennie’s nature Pure was Jennie’s Soul: : Jennie taught by example Peace: life’s precious goal

About This Poem
I wrote this poem for my mum’s birthday last year, I made it into a card so that the first part of the poem was on the outside, then when she opened it there was a full length picture of her mum with the rest of the poem about her.
I have written several poems for members of my family and had no intention of sharing most of them, but reading through them I thought some could be suitable to share, this being one.
It’s a well-known way to view life As a ‘Path’ we all must take The Path can be rough or smooth Depending on the choices we make
We can travel on our track alone Or with close and trusted friends There presence gives us support As we navigate the dips and bends
Varied loved ones will accompany us Along the majority of our life path The love we share gives us direction The joy, lightens our way as we laugh
But where does this pathway begin? And where does it go to, and end? Or is it a vast circular Highway We want to know, to comprehend
I believe the two points are the same From Source we arrive at our birth Wandering along to find our own route The reason we decided to come to Earth
Experiencing the joys and the beauty Giving unconditional love to one-and-all Discovering our unique gift to share Is the true path we all came here for
Sharing our love and our gifts With any who join us on our roam Enlightenment comes to let us know We Are Just Walking Each Other Home
Trina Graves – 5th December 2016
About This Poem
When I am out taking nature photographs one theme I am always on the lookout for are pathways, as I know many quotes (and my poems) use the expression of life as a path we all follow. Wooded footpaths and beach footpaths are my favourites to photograph and use. When out for walks with others I will purposely lag behind so that I can get a shots of people usually in the distance of a footpath as I think they make excellent pictures for quotes.
When I sat to write the poem for this quote I thought it would be a sympathy poem, but when the words began to flow it was obviously going to be about the path of life.
Many of us feel there is something We should be doing that we’re not Nothing seems quite right for us No matter what we’ve achieved or got
We all come to Earth with a plan There is something special we came to do And nothing will ease this empty feeling Until we set on our path that’s true
But some of us can’t seem to find the way Even to ‘see’ the path we should take It seems there are too many roads to choose How do we know and not make a mistake?
The secret is to always look for The thing that you find is fun What is it that you love to do? If you had a list, what’s number one?
What is it that eradicates time? You don’t notice the ticking of the clock When doing the thing you love It’s as if time has hit a block
What is it that gets you all fired up? Burning with a passionate desire Some way of helping others is the key To know it’s the path that will raise you higher
You may find you begin many trails There are an abundance of fun ways to go But taking many paths won’t fill your aching need Your progress on ‘The One’ will be too slow
If you find it difficult to make the choice Which ones could you live without And which is the one that keeps calling It may start as a whisper, but becomes a shout
In my life I’ve started various paths Many similar, but I was never quite sure Which was my one true path I should tread To fulfil me and make my heart soar
It’s taken me numerous years to realize One of the earliest I took was my authentic path But I believe everything happens for a reason So joyfully I walk on, and at myself I laugh
And now that I know I’m on the right path I follow its course each and every day I know in my heart it’s the one for me No matter what others may say
There are times that I might stumble or fall The way ahead is not always level or smooth But I’ll just get back up and carry on Onwards and upwards I’ll always move
If I have a difficult decision to make At any junction or crossroads on the way I always know how to make the choice Which one would be fun to play?
I know my path by the fun of it I enjoy what I am doing it’s true So I hope this poem will shed some light On the fun path ahead for you

About This Poem
As I mention in the poem, it took me many years to realize what my ‘true’ path was. Although looking back now I can see indications going back to my childhood, there was always something blocking my knowing. I can see now that quite often I would listen to others about what I ‘should’ be doing, but that never brings our true path. Self-doubt and self-criticism were obstacles too. For quite a few years I believed my path was to be a healer, I was told by several mediums that I could heal and I had great success with a new technique (EFT) at that time (2002) when I used it with family members and myself. I ventured into teaching others how to use this amazing self-healing tool. It worked really well on the few people I taught, and I always loved the feeling of helping someone to help themselves, but I can see now that my love and enjoyment for it was not 100%.
For a while I had two websites going, my Spiritual Quotes To Live By and one called Healing DIY. Eventually I came to realize that I had to let one of them go because I had so much to add to each one and I wasn’t happy with the slow progress with working on two. So, it really came down to the choice of which one could I live without. I felt I am a healer and should be teaching people self-healing, but I knew that I could never live happily without continuing collecting uplifting quotes and writing inspirational poems. This, for me, is definitely more FUN!
If ever you are feeling down Whatever it is that makes you frown Just open your eyes and look about You’ll find something, without a doubt To make you smile and appreciate That the simple things in life are great
A smile, a glance, a hug, a touch From someone that you love so much A flower, a leaf, a blade of grass Nature’s treasures we blindly pass
The serenity of a sleeping child Even if, in the daytime they tend to run wild A newborn baby so complete yet so small You can’t help but wonder the miracle of it all
Trina Graves – 15th November 2001
About This Poem
This was one of my earlier poems, the only thing I can remember about writing it is that it didn’t take very long!
What I can say now though is, back in 2001, I was most certainly blind to the treasures of nature! Yes, I liked trees and flowers and pretty scenes, but I had not developed any sense of the awesomeness of nature that would have me spellbound by a dandelion seed head or a daisy (two of my now favourite small things of nature). Back then it was babies and children that would inspire me.
Until I began my Spiritual Quotes To Live By website I never took nature photographs, all my photos were of my family. If we went for a walk to the woods, the photos would be of the children playing. But, in 2011 because I wanted to start making some photo-quotes I went with some of my grandchildren for a walk to a small woods nearby, intending to take some nature shots too. It was spring time and there was blossom on some of the trees, (I always liked blossom) and as I walked along looking for nature shots it was as if my eyes were opened for the very first time! I was mesmerized by the simplest of things, it was on this first walk that I took a photo of a dandelion seed head that I use as my logo on my site and Facebook page. I was so struck by the perfection of this ‘weed,’ for me it is a simple reminder of that first walk and my eyes being opened to the perfection of nature.
Don’t bother with a funeral It is a ceremony of old The one we’ve clung to longest It’s so hard to break the mould
Traditional Christenings and Weddings Have moved on with passing time Some have let go of the old ways Knowing their absence is no crime
For God is not only in a church Or wherever we go to pray All-That-Is lives in our hearts And Omnipresent, every day
Why put people through the agony Of saying a last goodbye? Producing memories of sadness That linger and make us cry
Their passing causes enough pain So why create even more? Especially as they live on The other side of a locked door
The door is locked to us for now But one day we will have the key And be united through our love Together again, our ‘eyes’ will see
When our coats are worn and old We all just easily throw them away The body is just an overcoat we wear Containing our Spirit, for our Earthly stay
Duty and respect are words we use Keeping people locked in, to follow rules It’s time to let go of past reasons And follow our heart, to where it pulls
If we didn’t visit them much in life Why do we haste to say goodbye? Maybe guilt and regret play a part ‘Paying Respect’ a fitting white lie
Beautiful flowers adorn the box Where our overcoat is laid to rest But in life did we give them flowers? When they can enjoy them, is truly best
So don’t bother with my funeral No need for ceremony to say goodbye Love me as in life, as I love you And in death, I’ll wait to say ‘Hi’
Oh please, I do not want a ceremony I’ve just got rid of my overcoat I’m free now to be omnipresent Into your thoughts I will easily float
I mean it truly, don’t give me a funeral My dearest ones, I love you and truly care Remember the happy times that we shared And know, for you I will always be there
Trina Graves – 27th April 2016
About This Poem
I’m not too sure why I felt the need to write this poem, I guess it just brought together my thoughts and feelings on funerals.
I personally believe…
If you are a flower-giver, they should be given to people while they are able to enjoy their beauty, I think it’s crazy to spend lots of money on elaborate arrangements for funerals, especially if you never gave the person flowers when they were alive. Flowers would be better off sent to the ones who are grieving to brighten up their home and show them they are being thought of.
Everyone should talk of their life stories to family and friends, it’s so much more personal and memorable to hear them from the actual person, than words spoken by another at a sad time.
The people we love should hear our words of love, respect and thankfulness while they are alive. Although I know they can also hear them when they are passed, we should all let them know they are loved and appreciated NOW.
Empty bodies do not need ornate boxes, elaborate vehicles for conveying or any other of the trappings of funerals. They do not need to be buried and visited. If cremated, it matters not what is done with the ashes.
I know most people would not agree with all of my thoughts, and I greatly respect whatever theirs are. As with everything in life, we live and die by our own choices.
My dad is in his 80’s and my mum will be 80 later this year. When I visit my parents and they mention anything about dying or their thoughts on their funerals, they are always apologizing for talking of such things. I constantly tell them I am happy to discuss this topic and don’t think of it as something we shouldn’t talk about. Only this last week both of them changed some of their wishes, so I guess it is something we continue to adapt as we go through life, however long we are blessed to be here.
At the moment, my wishes are for my empty body to be cremated as soon as possible with no coffin and no attendance from my loved ones. I like the idea of giving my loved ones a video of my favourite quotes and poems (including some of mine!) words of love and appreciation for the part they played in my life, photographs and my favourite uplifting songs, so I am working on that. I do not want a funeral service, but if my loved ones want to have a gathering, it is up to them. And hopefully (if I am blessed to have completed it in time!) they will have my choice of music and words to reflect upon!
The greatest gift in life, you’ve received today The birth of your precious little one, safely here to stay Entrusted to your gentle, loving care God knows that you are a wonderfully, devoted pair
Your lives will never again be the same Now that you are parents, you have a new aim To love and protect her, to nurture and to care The joys of parenthood are beyond compare
The happiness, joy and love you now feel Will stay with you forever, this love is so real There is nothing in life that can compare to this The birth of your cherished baby, brings you pure bliss

About This Poem
This poem was written eleven years ago today! The years have certainly flown by and the precious little bundle of joy is now almost as tall as both her parents.
My oldest daughter, Julie, always wanted to be a mother. From a young age she looked forward to the time when she’d get married and have children. With that attitude I always thought that she would be the first of my three children to make me a grandmother, but her brother surprised us all by becoming a father at seventeen. Julie of course became a wonderful aunt to her niece. Then five years later her younger sister, Emma, got married and had a daughter too, closely followed by a son. Julie doted on her nieces and nephew, but her relationships, so far, had not been right to settle down and have children. However, it wasn’t too long after this that she met a new man who seemed perfect to her. They moved in together and it wasn’t too long before she became pregnant. Becoming a mother was such a longed for experience I wanted to write something to remember it by.
They are now married and have two other children, Amy (8) and Lowen (3).
From the moment I was born Many roles did I receive Placed within my Being What depth would I believe?
A Human-Being of planet Earth A Girl of physicality English by place of birth Premature was little me
Born into the Working Class No ‘silver spoon’ to be fed No ‘blue blood’ in my veins Into this Ordinary Life I was led
First Daughter to my parents First Granddaughter on both sides A Sister to my brother Niece and Cousin, timing provides
Five roles of relationships Fifteen Family Members I affected But none will observe the same In the Baby they inspected
A Son or Daughter is a different person To each and every mum and dad Gender expectations are impressed From their own upbringing they had
A midwife delivered me that night At home, doing her chosen work Present for the miracle of birth My entry an Occupational Perk
Visiting Doctors and Baby Clinics About the town, going for walks I became a Patient and a Citizen A source of gossip in their talks?
Overly shy, I did turn heads As I screamed the places down Many must have considered me A Toddler nightmare, with a frown
Two more brothers came along But no sisters were for me My brothers have a different Sister From the perspective of each three
Starting school I became a Pupil To be taught all the right ways Of education at that time And the rules a Child obeys
Through the many years of schooling Various teachers made their mark I, their Student was seen differently A Character of light or of the dark?
Different levels of friendship Came and went over the years Playmate, Classmate, Acquaintance, Friend Some brought joy and others tears
Out into the world of work Stacking shelves as a teen An Employee I became Another role to be seen
Many jobs, many views Of people I would instigate Interactions and experiences Would affect my chosen fate
Being in love changes people The pair together and those around The power of love is so great Its expression and depth truly profound
Seen with eyes of love is so awesome When two blend it’s like a drug Loosing yourself in the emotion Even apart, enveloped in a warm hug
To the one who stole my heart I became their Lover, Fiancee, Wife So intoxication the roles I played But would not remain throughout my life
My most blessed role of all Would bring bliss so pure and true Becoming a Mother woke me up Unconditional love coming through
I placed this role as my priority And was blessed with two more Angels added to our family unit To love, cherish and to adore
I am a Mother to three children But, each see a different kind Inner truths and insecurities Develop and influence the mind
I saw my role as a joint Parent As two equals in the giving Babies need nurturing and love Adults adapting to daily living
I never knew for many years The change in my role of a Wife My intense love for our children My husband felt as lack and strife
So another role I took on
A Divorcee feeling remorse But it heralded great change My true purpose was on course
I became a Spiritual Seeker Limitations gone, I was free To live and learn and grow To be The Me I Came Here To Be
Becoming a young Grandmother Was the icing on the cake Unconditional love for these jewels Brought the Poet in me awake
Many lessons I have experienced From becoming a Mother-In-Law Different characters and views
Letting go of any control at all
Daughter, Sister, Mother Friend, Stranger, Wife Spiritualist, Blogger, Inspirer Are just a few roles of my life
With each, whoever’s looking At me, has filters on their eyes Their perception alters the view Adapting to where their truth lies
But who am I to me? Is all I should focus on It can take many years to see I am more than the roles I don
I am a Spiritual Being first A Spark of God to spread the Light I came here to experience it all The joys and sorrows are all alright
I am United in Oneness With All-That-Is and will ever be I am the Alpha and Omega We all share this in Individuality
Before my birth I knew it all At my death, I will re-unite All my experiences good and bad Bring truth and clarity of sight
Each role that I have played In this beautiful game on Earth Has brought me to where I am Opening the knowledge of my worth
Although these words are about me My life and the path that I took We all play roles in our own story What are yours? Why not take a look?
Trina Graves – 17th August 2018
About This Poem
I was reading a post from Amira: Accepting Change, Releasing Limitations, and while reading it a quote came to my mind, the combination of the two inspired me to write this poem. I am pretty sure the quote was from an unknown source and I thought I had it written down ready to add to my quote site, but I couldn’t find it. From my memory it was: “I am a Mother to three children, each of them has a different Mother and none of them are me.”
Many of my poems are personal to my life and might be totally irrelevant to others lives, but I believe reading other peoples ‘stories’ can shed light on our own and open doors to greater understanding.
I thought this photograph of us playing roles was perfect for this poem!
Babies are born into this world As pure Spirits, into our care Most think of them as totally helpless But they are Awake and Aware
It’s true they need to be looked after The physical body takes time to train Unlimited potential lies ahead for them After mastering their body and brain
But these unique and pure Spiritual Beings Are learning and adapting as they grow Throughout pregnancy, birth and early years They assimilate everything you show
We are all essentially Spiritual Beings Therefore words and actions do not convey As much as the energy we constantly radiate Through our thoughts and feelings every day
Our thoughts, beliefs and perception Will build our world, our exclusive reality Children mimic from those around them Familiar traits to become their personality
Surrounded by nurturing, unconditional love Supported with flowing positive praise Encouraged to independently think A child will embody all these ways

About This Poem
Many of my poems are about babies and children because they have been the main focus of my adult life. I had my three children at a young age and became a grandmother at thirty-six, my oldest grandchild is now an adult (21 this year) with others ever fast approaching!
One of the main things I wish I had known all those years ago when my children were born was that they are like sponges, taking in everything around them with no filters. I guess at an unconscious level I knew this because I was always wary of what was going on around them. But I never understood that it wasn’t just my words and actions, but my thoughts and feelings that had an effect on them. It’s all so clear to see now in their adult lives snippets of reflections of how I was back then.
And now in my grandchildren I see them develop as mini versions of their parents and the people that surround them. I always knew that we are influenced by the way we are brought up, but I never realized the extent of how it all programs our minds.
Although, another interesting point is that some people who have had unstable or even terrible upbringings are able to put their focus on achieving everything opposite to their personal experiences. Two wonderful examples of this are Wayne Dyer and Anthony Robbins. Wayne Dyer had an alcoholic father who left his family of three children under four, his mother couldn’t cope so she sent one child and Wayne to a series of foster homes, and the other to live with a grandmother. Wayne chose to perceive this experience as a lesson in self-reliance. Anthony Robbins childhood was abusive and poor, it was an anonymous gift of a food basket on Thanksgiving (when he was still a child) that changed his life, as he then set his focus on being able to help others in the same way.
We Are Being Taken Over… This is NOT a conspiracy theory! You will KNOW this to be true If you read all the way through.
We Are Being Taken Over… They are already here living among us They arrive each and every day There is no stopping them.
They are positioning themselves in all walks of life All races, all cultures, all classes, all abilities They are willing to infiltrate them all.
They don’t have control yet But they will… it’s only a matter of time.
Slowly, but surely they will take over… They will be in control of every village, every town, every city, every country and every nation.
They will be in every profession… Teachers, Shop Workers, Lawyers Nurses, Social Workers, Authors, Doctors, Carers, Bankers, Police… Every single occupation.
They will command and be the governments and armies of every single nation.
Their influence will touch the lives of us all.
They will be the parents of the next generations Instilling their own beliefs and their own way of life On the children of the future.
They are everywhere, waiting for their time. In the years ahead they will take over… No one will be immune to their domination They will have total control. Wherever you go on this planet… They will be there.
Are you concerned about this? Are you worried what will happen? Surely somehow they can be stopped? What if we close our borders?
But they are not arriving in that way They have another means of entry.
This invasion has been going on since humans began We are powerless to stop it.
But, thankfully scientist have recently discovered that we can gain control. They have found out that when these Beings arrive they are not fully programmed. We have the power to install the software that can benefit us all.
It is a mammoth task, but it’s doable, if enough of the right people take their part.
These beings use a type of mind virus to adapt to our world They learn to behave like us humans by memes. They watch our every move, listen to our every word
Copy our mannerisms, actions and habits. They can even tune into our thoughts So we will have to be Aware at all times.
We need to use our hearts and minds to focus on how we want our world to be… Loving, Peaceful, Supportive, Generous, Helpful,
Compassionate, Forgiving – in all its Diversity. Caring and Sharing the abundance of resources available for everyone. Living in Appreciation and Gratitude. Treasuring our planet and every living thing on it. Then we can programme the new arrivals with these qualities.
We will have to be very careful to do our best to live these qualities ourselves
Because their complete core programming takes about six years. It will be very easy at first to nurture them
Showing them only love, compassion and joy. But, as time passes and we have bad days
Getting stressed out about this and that, it becomes harder to stay aware…
They will always mimic our every mood
And install it.
As I said, it is a tremendous task
But it would be worth it… What a wonderful world we could all share in the future. And in our aging years we would be surrounded by loving, caring citizens of Earth. We would be joyously happy to let these new beings take over, everywhere. The future of life on Earth would be safe in their capable, caring hands and hearts.
So, who among us is up for the job?…
Well, actually, they have already chosen you!
Who are these infiltrators? And where do they come from?
They are Pure Beings of Love and Light Sent to Earth to guide us and to teach us to remember who we are…
We are Beings of Love and Light.
They come from God/Source/All-That-Is.
Trina Graves – July 2016
About This Poem
This poem is based upon the following quote by Rev. James A. Simpson.
“An army is invading our country. It is going to capture and take possession of everything we have, every political office, business, school, college and council. Nothing will be left to us. This army is composed of the babies and youngsters in our homes. They are the future citizens, the future teachers, directors, politicians. What happens to them, the kind of people they will become, will determine the quality of life in this country twenty-thirty years from now. No task is therefore more important than the education and training of these children in honesty, self-discipline, generosity, love and forgiveness.”
When I first read this quote I thought it was very thought provoking in it’s truth. I had previously been reading about how children have no filters in their early years and just absorb everything from those who surround them, so I wanted to bring these together in a poem. I also liked the idea of making it like a Conspiracy Theory of us being taken over, so I did not want to reveal until the very end that it is all about children.
Time: A simple word that evokes so much In the modern world it imprints on all we touch Lives are ruled by the ticking of the clock Conforming to its pace, we heed the tick-tock
It’s a man-made concept all so easily seen When twice a year we have to adjust our routine Changing the clock first forward and then back Why does it continue? Is it sensibility we lack?
Fitting everything in at the allotted time Being late is frowned on, considered a crime Forcing people to be the same as each other Obeying the system, natural alignment we smother
In the times of old, nature ruled the days Governed by the sun’s lightening rays Dawn, mid-day and dusk were the cue To the timing of all they needed to do
It’s funny how the same minute can be long or short Hours, days, even years, it seems time can distort Why is it that the exact same duration Can change? Is there really an explanation?
At embarrassing moments time just stands still As our mind freezes or overdrives to try and fill The awkwardness with maybe something funny to say While we silently wish it would all just go away
As we get older it seems that time goes so fast Speeded up from our childhood days, long in the past When school summer holidays seemed to last forever We played happily all day, no matter the weather
There are things we experience where time goes so slow Dealing with pain, physical or mental, is one we all know It doesn’t even matter if the pain’s not our own It’s excruciating when loved ones suffer and moan
Special occasions with family and friends speed by Enjoying time together, no matter the reason why Moments to treasure in our memory forevermore Love is the key to transcend time’s prison door
Feeling lonely or neglected time drags its feet Sinking deeper with the darkness, sat in our seat Days are endless, stretching into the gloom The pendulum of time heavily digs a tomb
Doing something we love time will rapidly pass We don’t notice the hours go by so fast Engrossed in pursuing our passion of heart Time’s inconsequential from the moment we start
Someone sitting quietly in meditation Can experience time in it’s duration As though an hour is a few minutes, no more As through they’re consciousness they explore
But another can sit the precise same stretch And be tormented with all the thoughts they fetch Bored or anxious and worried about what’s ahead Time’s lethargic pace expands the points they dread
In childbirth time plays an important part Counting the minutes right from the start Hours draw out as the intensity increases But time stills, as the magic moment reaches
With a baby, days and time have no meaning at all Except for the duration between the newborn’s call Getting everything done in between each wail We’re wrapped up in the little one’s timescale
Being a parent time is a total quirk The monotony can really be an irk But looking back, where has the time gone? The years flash by, we wish they’d prolong
The baby days that seemed so endless at the start Are over so fast, now time hits our heart As our children zoom through the years ahead Before we know it, from the nest they have fled
As age takes its toll time can certainly slump Especially if taken the attitude of a grump But those who keep mind and body active Will tinker with time and enthusiastically live
So have you noticed the difference between Time being fast or slow, or how it is seen Our perception alters our focus upon Each moment, making it short or long
All of the spans of time so vast Are caused by negative attitudes cast Upon the focus, the perceptive view Sending time off and all askew
When thinking positive as much as can be Time moves faster, it is so easy to see How living joyously in the moment brings more To enrich our lives and enlighten our core
When aligned with your Source, the real you Living in joy, with love coming through There’s no need to watch the clock on the wall Law of attraction will answer you’re heart’s call
Every instant of time is a pinprick Of eternity’s candle, we are the wick Vital to it’s radiance, expanding perpetually Aligned with Source we are timelessly free

About This Poem
When I sat to write the poem for this quote I knew I wanted to cover how our perception of time is affected by what we are doing and our thoughts. I follow the teachings of Abraham-Hicks so I always do my best to focus on the positive and not give my attention to the negative, so I try not to include negative aspects in my poems unless I feel it is needed and I would only use them sparingly. However, I felt that this poem needed all of the contrasts, so it has many more negative experiences than I would usually include.
Most people agree that time seems to speed up as we get older, but I truly believe that time has actually sped up since we moved into the ‘New Age.’ When I look back to the 70’s/80’s/90’s I can’t believe all the things it was possible to do in one day! And now, my days go by so fast, in comparison it seems as though what was a morning is now a whole day! I know I am older so have slowed down, and as much as possible I spend my day doing what I love to do (which speeds time up) but, as each month passes in what seems not much more than a week, I sometimes wonder, with the ever-increasing speed, what will eventually happen?
However, I know that time is just a concept we need to experience our life here on Earth and in other dimensions it does not exist in the same way or at all. And most importantly the only time I need to be: concerned about, focused on, appreciating, living, being, loving, blessing, enjoying is NOW.
There have always been stories In modern times and old How at the time of passing There are Heavenly re-unions to behold We Shall Not Die Alone Heavenly Re-unions Will Bring Us Home
We all have our own Guardian Angel A Celestial Messenger from above Always by our side throughout life Giving guidance and unconditional love We Shall Not Die Alone Our Guardian Angel Will Escort Us Home
There are other Divine Beings Who agree pre-birth to take the part To guide us through our life Giving inspiration to our heart We Shall Not Die Alone Our Spirit Guides Will Guide Us Home
We all have lost beloved family Who’s passing made our hearts cry Regardless of their time spent on Earth It was so painful to say goodbye We Shall Not Die Alone Beloved Family Will Take Us Home
There are even many family members Who we never met in this present life They passed over before our day of birth But watch over us through trouble and strife We Shall Not Die Alone Past Generations Will Support Us Home
We’ve also had devoted friends From our youth or recent days Who’ve transitioned to the other side And we miss them in so many ways We Shall Not Die Alone Departed Friends Will Accompany Us Home
Some have known the Unconditional Love Of a faithful, friendly pet Dog, cat or whatever animal Their presence we never forget We Shall Not Die Alone Our Faithful Pet Will Walk Us Home
All through our lives there have been people Who have inspired us, guided and taught Through school, books, history or whatever Knowledge and wisdom they brought We Shall Not Die Alone Our Teachers Will Lead Us Home
Strangers cross our path through life Sometimes briefly or moments that last But we always meet for a reason Untold Blessings exchanged as we passed We Shall Not Die Alone Blessed Souls Will Greet Us Home
If it’s meant to be our treasured loved ones Will be physically present on that day We’ll have the chance to say farewell And together for peace will pray We Shall Not Die Alone Our Loves Will Bless Us Home
But, even if their physical presence Is not there at our last breath Our love is a bond that unites us forever Their Devoted Spirit will be present at our death We Shall Not Die Alone Our Loves Spirits Will Send Us Home
We all have our own Inner Guidance Our Source, Spirit, Higher-Self or Soul When aligned our lives are Blessed We are Loving, Joyful and Whole We Shall Not Die Alone Our Higher-Self Will Unite Us Home
Some are truly Blessed with a Divine Encounter Of a Being so High and Supreme Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, whoever they are Their Blissful Presence will be like a dream We Shall Not Die Alone Ascended Masters May Enlighten Us Home
So you see the journey we all take Is never a lonely one With so much Love surrounding us Our home-coming celebrations will have begun We Shall Not Die Alone An Abundance of Love Will Transport Us Home

About This Poem
There are so many wonderful near-death experience stories shared by people from all walks of life and different religions, I have always enjoyed reading them and find them so comforting and inspiring. I think in every one I have read the person who ‘died’ came back and lived a different life than before, they were more loving, compassionate and spiritually minded.
Before my maternal grandmother died in 1993 she had several heart-attacks, after being resuscitated from the first one she told my mum that she was no longer afraid of dying because it had been so peaceful. Also, not long before she died she had a dream of walking on ahead of her children.
My mother also told me the story of another relative who was in bed, unable to move for his last days, but just before passing he sat up and was happily talking to ‘someone’ in the room.
I truly believe that we are never alone in this life or the next, so, of course we will be ‘met’ for the crossing over. I also believe that as we create our world, we can therefore focus on and choose who we would like to be with us at this time. My paternal grandmother died when I was seven and my older brother was nine. We lived next door to her so were very close. My brother strongly believes that she will be the one to meet him when he dies, so I too am positive that she will be there for him. I personally feel no need to determine ‘who’ will be the first one to greet me, it will all be a Blessed Re-union. 🙂
As a little girl I held your hand tightly For the world was a scary place. As the years went by our clasp loosened As I became eager to explore Then the day came that we both let go And I was able to walk alone.
Whatever I have faced in my life I’ve known your hand is always there For me to hold, if I need. The warmth of your love And guidance of your hand Has steered me through the crowd of life To bring me through.
Now as the years pass I hold my hand out to you For I will always be there If you ever need me. Take my hand and together We can walk the rest of the path.

About This Poem
When I was about nine or ten, I wrote a poem for my mum called Mother’s Hand. My mum still has it! So, when I began writing poems (as an adult) I wanted to have a go at re-writing it for her birthday.
I can’t believe it was almost seventeen years ago! And there was me thinking she was getting old reaching sixty-three, but in very few years I will be that age!!! Over the years I have written quite a few poems for my parents as they always love to receive them on special occasions. My mum will be eighty in October, so hopefully I will be up to the challenge of writing her something she will treasure. Now, as each birthday, anniversary and Mother’s/Father’s day comes round I begin to doubt that I can come up with something, but when I ask for guidance, it always comes. 🙂
Title Quote: Wayne Dyer Radiate An Energy Of Serenity And Peace, So That You Have An Uplifting Effect On Those You Come Into Contact With.
We all radiate our energy Although our eyes do not see Its presence, everywhere we go Is yours dull, or do you glow?
When you walk into a room You can sense the joy or gloom From whoever is there inside Energy shows, it cannot hide
Someone might be feeling sad Or stirred to anger, getting mad If you’re not conscious of your flow Negative vibes in you can grow
But, you don’t have to let it be Your thoughts and feelings set you free Focus on Love and Joy always Your energy, true and pure, will raise
You will then radiate and give Upliftment to all those you’re with Serenity and peace glow from you In all you say, and all you do
Infuse yourself in Love and Light Be a beacon burning bright Radiate, Illuminate, Sparkle, Shine At one with all, Spirit Divine

About This Poem
Many years ago, before I began my Spiritual Path, I would wonder how it was possible to sense when someone was in a bad mood. They didn’t need to speak or even look at you, just walking into the room they were in, you could feel it! But what was more alarming was the way their bad mood would soon affect everyone else around them!
I was given plenty of experience in this phenomena, which at the time I certainly did not appreciate, but now I can see it was a learning experience. We mostly have to experience things to truly understand them and by living through some bad situations we know exactly what we don’t want, and so can strive for what we do. And the only way to do this is to be grateful for the experience, forgive yourself and whoever it concerned, bless it and let it go. And then, put all your attention on what you do want, never giving thought to what you don’t. Then, as more and more of what you do want shows up.. Appreciate it! Give thanks for it! and you will receive more of the same.
Another thing that baffled me was that sometimes people would say they felt calm when they were with me, I probably hadn’t said much at all, as I have always tended to listen more than talk, so I couldn’t see why they would say that. Of course, now I know we radiate out the energy of how we are feeling, and also we can intentionally send out energy to others too.
There is someone I know who had told me he heard and sensed thoughts, I rarely see him, but once (several years ago) when I was visiting someone he was there. I thought I’d try something and while they were talking and he had his back to me I built up a strong sense of love and blasted it at him! He immediately turned around to look at me and smiled, then continued talking. I had no doubt that he felt what I sent.
We all have a Super Power The strongest there can be Universally given to all Young and old, you and me
It can penetrate all substances Fly around the world in no time Melt even the coldest of hearts And cease the hurt of any crime
You can build up its strength With the more that you use This Power is Invincible Blasted to wherever you choose
Our Power brings forth good Showering others in it’s rays Bringing joyfulness as it lands Empowering in abundant ways
It’s rays can heal all disease Illnesses fatal and those slight The person receiving the Power Just has to believe it is right
This Super Power has no limits Even dying cannot stop it’s depth It is the only thing to penetrate The two worlds of life and death
Superman or Superwoman Superbaby and Superchild We need no special outfit Just let your imagination run wild
Shine your Green Lantern or any colour Be The Flash that shows the way The true Guardians Of The Galaxy Will then appear and they will stay
LOVE is our Super Power LOVE will always save the day LOVE is God, the ALL-THAT-IS LOVE unites us in every way

About This Poem
I awoke this morning with this title imprinted on my mind, although I gave up watching Superhero films many years ago I knew that the poem I was to write had to feature them!
There are three things I can think of that may have given way to this theme: I have been wondering how I can write to attract and appeal to a younger audience, and have some fun topics. Also, somewhere over the past few months I read about why there is such a fascination for Superheroes at this present time. The article (I have not been able to find it, but if I do I will add an update) said that it is because people have an inner-knowing that we do indeed possess Super Powers and as more of us become Aware and Awake these powers will manifest more easily.
I think this has been the fastest I have ever completed a poem: title, writing the poem, making the picture and doing the write up all in a few hours. The longest part was finding the right photograph! I knew I had one of my grandson dressed up and climbing a door-frame which I thought would be perfect, but then I discovered this one taken on the same day and thought was even better! I also would usually leave a poem for a day to re-read with fresh eyes, but I feel an urgent need to get this one ‘out there’ TODAY!
Our lives are blessed with loved ones Which makes it harder to bear When they are taken from our sides And are no longer there
We miss their smile, their warmth, their love And sink deeper into our grief We’re told that time will heal the pain But still there is no relief
At quiet times we may feel their presence But pass it off with a rebuff We think that our minds are playing tricks As if we’re not suffering enough
The key to it all is an ‘open mind’ With this you’ll know the way If your mind is open you’re willing to be Ready to accept miracles each day
Our loved ones are not that far away Although it can be hard to believe Just reach out with your thoughts and love And be open for the gifts you’ll receive
Love is eternal it never dies When we pass, it’s all that we can take The love we share is never lost The bond will never break
Trina Graves – 7th October 2001
About This Poem
Love Is Eternal was my very first attempt at writing a sympathy poem. It was also the first poem I intentionally wrote. I have always been drawn towards sympathy poems, not because of the loss of anyone close, but because I find most of them to be so uplifting. Looking back now, I can also see that this was part of my life path.
In January 1992 an uncle died. He was my mother’s oldest sister’s husband, and as I grew up he seemed to me to be a dominant man with old fashioned views of women. However, a few years before he died I spent some time working with him (my father had his own business, I worked in the office and my uncle helped out in establishing the marketing) and got to know a different side of his character. Now, I easily see where his views on women came from, as along with it being an older generations views, he only had the experience of brothers and sons.
At the get-together after his funeral there were two printed out poems that were passed around, I read them and liked them so kept a copy. They were: I Am Standing On The Sea Shore (Luther F. Beecher, but often credited to Bishop Brent) and Death Is Nothing At All (Henry Scott Holland).
I read these many times and found them so uplifting that I began to look for more inspirational words, quotes and poems. And I started to write them all down in a special notebook with my favourite family photos on the inside covers. Thus began my quest on my spiritual path, that would lead me to begin my Spiritual Quotes To Live By website in 2010 and to write my own poems.
It is only in writing this now that I have realized: the influence he had on my life while he was alive was small, but since his passing, it has launched me to where I am today, because he also gave me a message in 1994 (through a medium) which has greatly affected my writing. You can read more about this with my poem: ‘Insight.‘ I think I should point out that he was not a ‘Spiritual’ man during his life, at least, not that I knew of.
How do you view sympathy poems? Are they something you only read when a loved one has passed or missed? Or, like me, do you find them uplifting and reassuring to speak of life continuing on?
Quote Title: Kahlil Gibran
Give And Take: For To The Bee A Flower Is A Fountain Of Life, For To The Flower A Bee Is A Messenger Of Love. And To Both, The Bee And The Flower, The Giving And The Receiving Is A Need And An Ecstasy
Give and take – it’s all about the balance Both are vital, it’s certainly not by chance That if we favour the one, over the other Our growth in life, we will then smother
It’s easy to see how people who take always Are blocking their integrity in selfish ways Someone who just blindly focuses on self Will never gain true freedom, or true wealth
Surprisingly though what many do not know Is focusing on self is actually the way to grow Seeking our Soul Guidance we become Aware Of our true selves, then we desire to share
The difference is our attitude, or way to be Focusing on self, but with a heart that’s free Open-eyed and embracing, seeking love and fun Living consistently with the truth: We Are All One
The Givers, we always respect and admire Icons throughout history perpetually inspire Teresa, Gandhi, King, Mandela – to name a few They evoke our Awakening to the path so true
Worldwide there are billions of people everyday Giving of themselves to aid others, in their own way There are no actions or gifts that are ever too small For even a smile uplifts, giving to the One-And-All
For all the givers there have to be The ones to receive, even you and me Both are essential in life, we need the contrast Enriching each other, we weave a web so vast
In life there are Infinite ways to give Embodying this is the way to live Balanced with receiving in Gratefulness We’re open and flowing, our lives are Blessed

About This Poem
I work my way through a list of quotes to use on my quote poems and this was most definitely one I thought would not be easy. So, when I got to this one I read the quote and did my usual praying for guidance, and then realized it was obviously way to long to use the whole quote for the title. Cutting it in half was still too long, so I thought to just use the start.. so much easier! Once I had this shortened title the words began to flow.
Reading through the poem today I thought the word ‘take’ has a bit of negativity to it, so I just checked my dictionary to confirm the definition and was amazed that there are 35! As I perceived it as a more negative word, as in taking without gratitude, I’m now wondering does that reflect on something I need to work on, or is it a universal way of seeing the word within the context of ‘Give and Take?’ What do you think?
Many people inspire us, along with the great icons of history there are our own heroes, whether well known, or people who are part of our everyday lives.
The people who have inspired me have changed over the years: As a child it was my teacher, who developed my love of music. As a young teen it was the Osmonds with their music and values of family and faith. I can’t remember any strong influences from the 80’s, but in the 90’s, and until today, it is those who have a strong connection to Spirit or God/Source: Betty Shine, Eileen Caddy, Neale Donald Walsch, Wayne Dyer and Abraham-Hicks. Also, I have two amazing friends who inspire me with their creativity and ever open hearts. We no longer live near to each other, so I don’t get to see them very often, but they are both so caring and wonderfully inspiring. They are both a blessing in my life.
Who has inspired you in your life? And why? I’d love to know, if you’d like to share. 🙂
Silent meditation at the start of your day Source is connected to guide your way
Affirmations plant positive seeds in your head Allowing them to bloom in the days ahead
Visualization sets your desired goal Virtuous images delight your Soul
Exercise benefit’s the physical part of you Essential balancing with mind and spirit too
Reading self-growth books will provide ideas and more Recommended wisdom opens many a door
Scribing your thoughts and journey, the path you take Supports all your Miracle Morning, your Soul will Awake

About This Poem
Several years ago I came across Hal Elrod online and read of his amazing recovery from a fatal car crash that left him in a coma with serious injuries. He went on to achieve great success as a speaker, life-coach and author. His first book was an autobiography of his story: ‘Taking Life Head On (How To Love The Life You Have, While You Create The Life Of Your Dreams’)
I added this book and The Miracle Morning to my Amazon Wishlist (which contains way too many books!) thinking I must read them one day. I also added several of his positive attitude quotes to my website, which is why I easily remember his name. A few years later I was at the library with my grandchildren. I hadn’t gone to get any books, but I always take a look at the ‘Mind, Body, Spirit’ shelves just to see what’s there. I noticed a Hal Elrod book, The Morning Miracle, so I knew I had to borrow it! I was hooked within a few pages and devoured it, making notes. I knew I had to do this!
The Miracle Morning encourages you to wake early each morning and do a list of six things to transform your life. As a guide to remember the six things he uses the acronym SAVERS: Silence, Affirmation, Visualization, Exercise, Reading, Scribing.
I must admit that I only stuck to it for about six months, it certainly did make a difference, but I found that I was so absorbed in doing the things and began adding more and more to the list, it would take up ALL of the morning, no matter how early I got up!!! So I let go of ‘having’ to do it, and instead just keep it in mind as beneficial things to do every day.
The devastation that you bear Causing your heart to rip and tear I know there’s nothing I can say That can take this pain away
The reason for this parting you don’t know At times life can hit with a mighty blow Wrenching deep down into your core Changing your life forever more
In the days, months and years ahead Through tumultuous emotions you’ll be lead In time acceptance will seep through Knowing there was nothing you could do
All I can hope is that you feel The love that can help you heal From so many close and far Who care about how you are
Our thoughts, love and prayers are with you Though there’s nothing physical we can do So we all embrace you in pure love To help protect you like a glove
Your precious little one Who’s physical life never begun Will always be in your heart And you’ll never be apart
I would like to share with you My beliefs, though you might think untrue In time, the words I hope will bring A ‘Light’ to ease your suffering
You felt their presence in the womb Just as though they were in the room Their core essence you could feel Spiritual energy is truly real
We are Spiritual Beings first and bodies last When on this Earth a spell is cast To make us forget the plans we made With other Souls a path we laid
Your special little Angel agreed with you To bring an experience so raw and true Of the sanctity of a non-physical life That would at first cut you like a knife
You both knew you would always share A connection, though they wouldn’t be there Living the life you envisioned and planned Through pregnancy, before death played its hand
Your dreams of happiness were crushed As this tragedy unfolded and rushed Into the depths of your very Being To change forever your way of seeing
Sadly, some never wade the loss and grief Pinning for years with little relief Turning to addictions to ease the pain Looking for answers and reasons to blame
Others, though hurting and feeling the loss Know they have the courage and support to cross The bridge over the river of perpetual sorrow Glimpsing there’s always a brighter tomorrow
They know their Angel will travel on Growing in Spirit, but never ‘gone’ Always hearing every thought and prayer Throughout their ‘lives’ they continue to share
The limit of sight should never be A definition of reality Your little one is never far away Although you can’t see them here today
It is through an uplifted, loving heart That it is possible to even start Connecting a stronger Spiritual link It’s all to do with the way you think
In your dreams, in bed at night You can visit the world of Light And hold your precious little one Until the dawning of the sun
I believe your path is the most difficult there is to face With not even minutes of a life to treasure and retrace So I send my Love, Light, Blessings and Prayers to you Asking Heavenly Assistance to guide you through
Trina Graves – March 2017
About This Poem I won’t say much about this poem as all my feelings about it are expressed in the poem. I have not shared it before except with the parents who it was written for. They have now been blessed with another addition to the family, although I know it does not take away any of the feelings of love and loss for their first son, it brings another joy into their lives and additional strength to move on.
So I would like to now share these words, hoping they will be of some upliftment to anyone who has gone through this heart-breaking experience. Of course, they are also for those who had a limited time with their precious ones – whether minutes, months or several years.
We all experience life In our own unique way No two people are alike In what they think, do, and say
From the moment of our birth Some would say even before We absorb from those around us Their beliefs, it builds our core
Our lives are moulded and shaped By our experiences every day Fuelled by all those beliefs Unchallenged, they become our way
We all have a story to tell Of the life we live and see Guided by our beliefs and thought We create our destiny
But some have limiting beliefs That can shrink their self-worth Only one or two know their truth Hidden from the rest of Earth
Others have tried to share But faced ridicule and jest Bruised and battered by remarks Their truth no longer expressed
We can learn from one another Others’ experiences we can take And mull over to decide Will they enhance the life we make?
So listen to everyone Tell their stories on their path Forget those that make you cringe Remember what makes you laugh
Often it takes a hard knock To open our path’s true door Disease, break-up, death Can Awaken us to much more
Or sometimes just one thing Happens that blows our mind Changing forever our future path Limiting beliefs we leave behind
Those near-death experiences Past-life recalls and even dreams Can bring important messages Much more than at first seems
Encountering other forms of life Ascended Masters, Angels, Spirits too Cosmic Beings, or just a UFO Brings true Awareness into view
We are now in a special time It’s been called the ‘New Age’ Darkness is being overpowered And the Light will turn the page
Onwards we will all unite Sharing our truth from our heart Bringing Love and Light to all Is a very good place to start
Speak Your Truth of Love Speak Your Truth of Light Speak Your Truth of Sensing Speak Your Truth of Sight

About This Poem
Sometimes (often in the morning on waking up) I get the title of a poem just come to me, and it will keep coming to mind until I write it. I awoke with this title a few weeks ago after someone told me of something very unusual they had seen as a child.
A few days ago I wrote ‘What Would Love Do Now? but after finishing and reading through, I thought it just wasn’t right. I don’t like to finish with not being happy with my writing, but I know the best thing to do is leave it alone and write something else. My computer wasn’t on to get a quote, so I just went for the words that have been hanging around waiting to be spoken! The interesting thing is that the next day I re-read the first poem and knew there was nothing wrong with it, it seems I just had to get this one done!
Although I have been using some of my poems on my other site since 2010, I very rarely wrote about unusual happenings or my spiritual messages etc.. I knew that some people would think them strange, wrong or nonsense! So, I held back. But when I linked up with Amira (bodyandsoulnourishmentblog)and started this blog I just felt differently about sharing everything, so now I just follow my intuition. Bless you and thank you Amira for the Light you have shone into my life in such a short time – I would not be sharing this poem, or my truths, if not for you.
I have had this poem in draft ready to add for a couple of days now, but for some reason I have known that it was not the time to publish. For whatever the reason, today is the day!🙂
Speaking My Truth – (things that come to mind as I write this)
I have experienced the indescribable all-encompassing love flow through my body that ebbed away when I began to question it, but left me on a love-high for days after.
I have received countless messages from Spiritual Mediums that have proven to me we do not die, they have told me things that no one else knew, and things that have shaped my future life.
I believe I am guided in writing my inspirational poems, I have no idea who by, it could even be just me (my Higher-Self), I don’t feel it really matters who, as long as the message is of love and light.
I have had objects move in front of my eyes with no apparent cause (eg. keys in a bicycle lock coming out – for no reason – and horizontally moving about two feet before falling, this was indoors.
I have seen numerous un-explainable lights in the sky, moving in odd ways.
I have taken loads of photographs with orbs in them. I can take a photo with no orbs and then ask for them to appear and they usually do.
I have had many visualizations/daydreams of meeting with someone and receiving inspiring messages for myself. See the poem Insight for my first meeting.
I have been told by many that I have a calming influence on people.
I have only been angry once in my life. I have wondered about this often as I know you should not suppress emotions and I have tried to work through situations in my life that ‘should’ have caused anger, but I have come to the conclusion that it is just not a part of me and I just needed to experience it once as a learning.
Update: 11th August 2018
If you read the comments below you will see that this poem was written for Amira, but at the time that I posted it she had not ‘Spoken Her Truth’ it was infact Amira who told me of seeing a UFO as a child. In one of our continuing synchronicities, Amira had written a poem about what she had seen, but was hesitant on publishing it until she read this poem. You canread Amira’s poem and her story (in the comments).
The basis of everything is vibration In this wonderful world of ours All the people, all physical objects All of nature including its flowers
Everything in life we experience In each and every single day We identify through our senses There truly is no other way
The five basic senses of hearing Sight, taste, touch and smell Are the ones we are taught to use And they do serve us quite well
It’s the vibrational frequencies Our organs transmit to our brain The world around us we distinguish But what does it really contain?
Science in the past has always Used physicality as a proof If you can’t see something’s there How can it be real or the truth?
Today the atom can be viewed To see what there is inside They’ve found just empty space Now the truth just cannot hide
But the most astonishing discovery Science has made in more recent years Is that the observer changes the outcome Everything alters as perception interferes
Science and Spirituality are merging Whichever way you look, you will find It is all about the Energy and Vibration Of how we perceive and are aligned
We all have another sense, the sixth Though many chose to ignore or forget The importance of sensing energy It’s been the most misunderstood yet
We all have this sense to use From the moment of our birth We use the energy around us For all our years on this Earth
Some people can use this sense So much easier than the rest They always trust their intuition Not having to put it to the test
Whatever we may do in this life Begins with a simple thought Created by what’s around us From the vibrations we import
Thoughts usually turn to words As we convey our desires and express Through the way we have learned But, have we really progressed?
A baby understands so much more Than we could ever truly know They are aligned with vibrations That to them so easily flow
If you’ve ever held a baby When you’re in a bad mood You know they’ll pick up on that And either cry or be subdued
All babies come into our world With so much love and wisdom to share They’re pure spirits, aligned with Source And can teach us how to be Aware
Trina Graves – 3rd December 2016
About This Poem
In 2011 I began to blog by writing about the photo-quotes I added to my website and Facebook page, both called Spiritual Quotes To Live By. I actually started it here on WordPress, but after awhile moved it over to my site. For simplicity reasons, I thought it best to start with the first photo I added and work my way through, so that I knew exactly what I’d used. However, when taking a peek ahead to what was coming I would occasionally think ‘What on Earth am I going to write about that one?’ Always wanting to ‘go with the flow’ if I was stuck on what to write.. I didn’t. So there would sometimes be long gaps.
At the end of 2016, because I had began to write many more poems I decided to write a poem for each quote instead. That was before I had looked at what the next quote would be! When I saw this one it was definitely a ‘What can I write?’ moment! But after praying and asking for guidance the words just flowed quite easily and I was really pleased that the poem ended up covering so much with what at first seemed a difficult title!
The best time to plant a tree Is twenty years ago To give it the essential time To develop, bloom and grow
Of course, this isn’t relevant If you are still a youth But, I’m sure you can see This plain and simple truth
Trees are vital to our life Here on this planet Earth But do we really appreciate Our trees, for all their worth?
Some say, if trees gave wi-fi We would all be planting more Instead, they give us oxygen Life’s breath, crucial to our core
Trees sustain our life We’re inherently entwined Why do we chop them down When other sources we can find?
Every child would benefit from Planting a tree when they are small Gaining more than just ‘green fingers’ Through the years as both grow tall
So, if you have not planted a tree Years ago for time to allow It’s growth and needed life-force The second best time is NOW
Trina Graves – 18th February 2016
About This Poem
The full quote, from an unknown source, is:
The Best Time To Plant A Tree Is Twenty Years Ago The Second Best Time Is Now
Even though I never really appreciated the miracle and wonderment of nature until I was much older, I have always loved trees. Many of my childhood memories are tree related: enjoying the blossoms on a lilac tree in our garden, often standing under and smelling an evergreen tree (not sure what sort) in the playground at primary school and making out shapes and pictures in the tree skyline from our kitchen window.
From that early noticing of blossom, spring became my favourite time of year. In my adult years as I moved home, I was never a zealous gardener, but I always planted a few trees in each garden. In my older years as my love of nature developed, trees were obviously a focus of my attention and I become mesmerized in their awesomeness.
I’ve noticed that the things I did as a child I still do, along with new habits of hugging, touching, praising, giving thanks, taking photos and just basking in the majestic beauty of the trees I encounter.
When faced with a decision Not knowing which way to go Choices lay before you Confusion blocks your flow Worrying about the wrong one Puts a frown upon your brow Just ask yourself the question What Would Love Do Now?
All experiences are beneficial Even the bad ones play a part They can break down the barriers To open up your heart No matter what the problem You can get through it somehow By asking yourself the question What Would Love Do Now?
Whether just beginning your path Or seeing the end in sight It’s your course that you follow Only you know what is right Which twist or turn to take ahead Rest now or onward plough Always ask yourself the question What Would Love Do Now?
A negative side has to exist For the positive to simply be So you can always take that view And a darker side you’ll see But if you choose the Light A channel of Love you allow You’ll embody with each step What Love Would Do Now
Trina Graves – 3rd August 2018
About This Poem
When I was doing this part for yesterday’s poem ‘Is This Who I Am?’(based on a Neale Donald Walsch quote) ‘What Would Love Do Now?’ came into my head. I started to write about this quote too, but then thought it would make an excellent title for a new poem. While it was fresh on my mind I Googled the quote (as I knew I had read it somewhere) and found a beautiful song by Jason Mraz.
Searching some more I discovered, and shouldn’t have been surprised, that the quote was from Neale Donald Walsch. So, I got on with writing the poem straight away.
Sometimes when I’ve finished a poem I read it and think it’s not alright, this was one of those times, so I went back to yesterday’s ‘About This Poem’ and deleted everything about this new quote. But, as with what usually happens, the next day I read the poem and see it with fresh eyes.
If ever you’re unsure of what to do This is the question that will help you through Ask yourself, “Is this who I want to be?” The answer will guide you to act correctly
Every second and every minute of every day You create yourself anew with what you do and say “Is this the greatest vision of myself?” you might ask Whenever you are about to carry out a task
What is the grandest vision that you can conceive Of your life right now, it’s possible to achieve Whatever you believe to be true Your life’s what you make it, so create a new you
Decide who it is that you want to be Express and fulfil this and you will soon see Another grand vision that you can aim for Your Soul is experiencing life and evolving more

About This Poem
I had written several poems in late 2001 using the Core Concepts from Conversations With God by Neale Donald Walsch as the title and theme. On this day in June (the following year), I had just written God Talks To Everyoneto add to my list and then wanted to do another poem, but the concept/quote that was getting my attention was much too long to use as a title:
Your Purpose In Life Is To Decide & To Declare, To Express And To Experience WHO YOU REALLY ARE This Is The Purpose Of All Life That Is Evolution.
So instead, I chose to use a simple question based on this quote: “Is This Who I Am?”
We all love enchanting, captivating stories From very young children to the old Reading stories uses our imagination We’re engrossed in how they will unfold Books can be just a few short pages Or go on for a whole series that offer more But all stories have a beginning and end The pleasure they make is what we read them for
Films and TV series capture our attention As we sink into and establish the plot Our senses are bombarded with emotions Through characters, music and the scenery shot A film lasts for a short time, only an hour or two A complete series can go on for a year or more But all films and series have a beginning and end The emotions evoked are what we watch them for
Some people enjoy enhancing nature Planting various seeds into a flower-pot They nurture and appreciate the beauty Whether a lavender bush or forget-me-not Flowers develop wondrous hues and fragrance Scattering their elegance in gardens and more But all flowers have a beginning and end Their pure beauty is what we grow them for
One of nature’s incredible, bountiful joys Is the variety of trees that grow everywhere Their magnificence and majestic presence Is enhanced with the lessons they share Strength, flexibility, change, importance of roots They give us oxygen and so much more But all trees have a beginning and end Vital life-enhancement is what we need them for
Over our lives most of us share some time With a pet who becomes a family friend It doesn’t matter what the animal type It’s the faithful love that they can send Companionship, loyalty, non-judgement Whatever we share, they give so much more But all animals have a beginning and end Their companionship is what we adore them for
And so we come to the point of these words The hardest experience one day we all must face When our nearest and dearest loved ones pass Will we be able to abide it with good grace?
The simple, pure beauty of our family and friends We enrich our lives together with the pleasures we make Our love and companionship is vital life-enhancement As the emotions evoked bring our Hearts and Souls Awake
“Everything That Has A Beginning Has An End Make Your Peace With That And All Will Be Well” The Buddha’s words are an essential principle of life To enable us when the time comes to say ‘Farewell’

About This Poem
This was one of my poems that surprised me with how it ended. I started in my usual way (praying and asking for guidance) and then wrote a list of the topics to cover. Each verse flowed quite easily and I knew it was going to be a sympathy poem it was obviously going to move on to dying. But the ‘surprise’ was in how the ending of each verse came together for the penultimate verse.
It was the latest craze in the 90’s going around Looking at pictures and what could be found Inside these pictures was another to see Hidden from view and apparently in 3D
I tried to see what it was all about I couldn’t see anything so began to doubt That anything was actually there at all So I got a big picture to put on my wall
Patterns, shapes of many colours and size Covered the picture before my eyes I stared at it umpteen times a day But nothing appeared in anyway
I tried to look as the instructions told Relaxing the eyes, no focus to hold Looking through the picture was described I began to think the instructions lied
But other people said they could see Objects appear, like a bird or a tree I continued to look determined to find But my magic eye just stayed blind
Giving up hope that I’d ever get to see On day I glanced, not bothered and lazily Suddenly on one side a shape appeared I was so surprised, I could have cheered
I looked at the shape, but it was gone Now I knew I could do it, I continued on Relaxing my eyes and looking through That was all I ever really needed to do
It didn’t take long to see the whole thing An aeroplane in 3D with extended wing Coming out of the picture towards me I was elated that at last I could now see
After that first time it was easily achieved Seeing the aeroplane, I now believed I could do it, so it was easily done Picture within picture was such fun
Now I could see with my magic eyes I sought out pictures and showed other guys But the thought that most stuck with me Was what else is there we do not see
The point of all this I’ll come to now Because over the years I wondered how Some people can see the non-physical A gift from Spirit I believe is so magical
Becoming interested in the Spiritual side I’d wanted to see auras and so I tried But nothing happened, I could not see I guessed it just was not meant to be
The magic eye pictures showed me how To unfocus my eyes to see differently now So I tried this new way, looking at my hand Although my gaze on it, did not land
Without success, I tried looking at a tree Outside the window and it seemed to me Around the leaves there was a slight glow I could see even though the wind did blow
By relaxing my eyes and focus I knew I could See the energy from plants, I understood The energy was always there, not in view If the magic eye is not looked through
Eventually I got to see the light Around my hand, an amazing sight But over the years, time moved on I didn’t practice this, had it gone?
A few days ago I gave it a try Looking at my hand held up high And around it I could see a light hue A glowing beautiful shade of blue
All who are blessed with the gift of sight Have the ability to see the light Around living things, when they try To use their own magic eye

About This Poem
There is not a lot I can say about this poem really as the story is all there in the poem, except that I haven’t developed any further seeing auras, as it’s not something I have practiced. But, in recent conversations with Amira (boundlessblessingsblog) we have both discussed things that we have learnt in the past which need re-visiting, so I think this is definitely one for me.. I await to hear from Amira for her comments about this! 🙂
