Some people find it hard to believe That a conversation with God is easy to achieve For there is no one that God does not talk to God communicates with us all, no matter what we do
The real question is, are you listening out For God communicates not with a shout God’s words may be ‘heard’ as a feeling so real You’ll know it’s the truth from just how you feel
Or maybe the next person that you meet today Will give you an answer to show the way We are all One, linked to God above That person is an ‘angel’ sent from Heaven with love
Perhaps on the radio a song that you hear Will bring the answer ever so clear A film, or a book that just comes to hand Is ‘meant to be’ that’s the way God planned
So if there is anything you’re concerned about Just talk to God in a whisper or a shout God is always there with us, waiting to give Help and guidance to how we might live
You may not get the answer immediately Be patient and wait for you will soon see If you’re willing to be open to whatever comes your way You’ll be blessed with God’s Words, day after day

About This Poem
I had written a few poems over several years, but in 2001 I had the idea to write a group of poems using the Core Concepts from ‘Conversations With God’ by Neale Donald Walsh as the titles and themes. At that time I wrote four poems (to be added) and the following year I wrote this one. I never knew back then that this would be the start of writing poems using quotes as titles!
Although this poem uses God as the focus, it can of course be read as whatever word anyone uses for the omnipotent and omnipresent force that we are a spark of. I do not believe that God/Source/All-That-Is (my favourite ones) cares in the slightest what word we use, the feeling and knowing are far more important!
Another way to look at the poem is the coincidences that happen in life. Many years ago I believed what I had been taught: coincidences are just things that happen, but have no relevance or meaning. But, as I began to explore the Spiritual side of life I immediately noticed how these coincidences kept happening, and the more I noticed, the more they happened! I now know that these synchronicities are about being in alignment with our true selves and are confirmations and guides along our way.
The simplest of things can bring meaning to you And guidance is received to help you get through The journey of life as you travel the path It’s amazing what brings a smile or a laugh
Although I am writing about my own journey I believe that sharing enlightens others to see And contemplate life and how it all fits in So my story of bus journeys, I’ll now begin…
As a toddler and child I was uncontrollably shy My parents were bewildered, they didn’t know why I wouldn’t go anywhere without screaming and fuss So it was always a nightmare to take me on a bus
With no car and living in the remote countryside The twice weekly bus was a vital lifeline to ride Although I don’t remember those first early trips Excruciating tales I heard from my parents lips
At four years old starting school I began to change Although still deeply shy, I wasn’t so strange My school I loved going to was a few miles away So I travelled with my brother on the bus each day
When I was about eight, in holidays I began to stay With my grandparents who lived quite far away One day out with my nanny on a bus trip to town I couldn’t ask for a ticket, all I did was frown
I knew the words, but they just wouldn’t come out It took a few more years for me to lose my doubt Then I could talk to people, just a little at first My acute shyness had eased, the dark cloud burst
Several years later, at fifteen I began to date A childhood friend, it all just seemed to be fate Our families were friends, so the weekends I’d stay Travelling on the bus to meet him on a Friday
The journey would take quite a long while So lost in my thoughts, I’d daydream and smile Planning our future together, forever more The time soon passed, it was never a bore
Although I looked out the window, I didn’t see The world outside, I was just focused on me Enjoying the delightful thoughts that I’d find Flowing so easily around in my mind
There were places to go together, and things to do A couple of years later, there were wedding plans too But from that time, the most memorable moments of all Were treasuring my growing, precious bump, so small
All of my hopes and dreams were coming true The bus rides I enjoyed as I thought through The years ahead with my own precious family I was young and in love, oh, how happy we’d be
Once wed I’d still journey, but the opposite way Missing my parents, I’d visit often on a Saturday Over the months as my pregnancy did progress The bumpy journey was uncomfortable, so I went less
My beautiful baby girl was born in early spring So all through the summer I delighted to bring Her out on the bus and wherever we would go She’d get attention, as a proud mother I’d glow
The following year it became much trickier to ride The bus as there was a baby brother at her side In those days pushchairs always had to be put down So it was very difficult to do much shopping in town
They were 2 and 3 years old when my last was born So I could only manage to journey if a sling was worn Snuggled and so cosy, the baby would sleep away So I’d talk to the others and think of games to play
My attention had began to go outside of the bus To keep little ones occupied, so they wouldn’t fuss Playing I Spy, or just talking about all we could see Through children, nature’s heart opened a little to me
One amusing incident sticks out in my mind, so well The things little ones say, are such a delight to tell Crossing over a ‘Toll Bridge’ I had tried to explain She thought coins were stacked up, to take the strain
The years flew by and they all grew up so fast I learned to drive, so bus rides were in our past But journeys together were never quite the same Without sharing the sights and playing a game
When in my thirties my son made me a nanny My heart and eyes were truly opened wide to see The world through a child, so innocent and pure I was blessed with more angels who awoke my core
Travelling on buses with my young grandchildren All so eager to explore and just simply having fun Flooding back in my mind, fond memories I’d recall Of my children, the same when they were so small
I was once again living in the beautiful countryside Separated, then divorced, my marriage had died Sometimes I would take the bus to Oxford city I noticed nature more now, so abundantly pretty
It was on one of these journeys when I was alone I gazed out the window, my thoughts on a roam Words floated into my mind from the great somewhere I knew they were for children and that I would share
‘Where Is God?’ the poem I recalled and wrote When I finally got home and took off my coat It was one of the first poems given to me On my journey to being who I came here to be
When alone, another thing I would often try Was sending thoughts to people sitting close by I had learned how our minds are powerful tools Enabling so much if you allow, and positivity rules
I’d close my eyes and send out bursts of love Knowing they’d receive it, blessed from above No one we encounter is ever simply by chance As we go through life in our law of attraction dance
I would sometimes send out healing rays of energy With my eyes closed I focus, I didn’t need to see Often I’d know I’d finished and then opened my eye They were getting off the bus, I blessed them goodbye
In more recent years I’ve spent three hours or more On buses to visit family, the time is never a chore Now I adore the abundance of nature out of the window While listening to Abraham-Hicks, my Soul is aglow
Through my bus journeys of life, I have conveyed My thoughts and directions, how my route was laid Why not reflect on your own life and see what you find? The simplest of things can bring Awareness to mind

About This Poem
It’s probably no surprise that the idea to do a poem about the bus journeys through my life came to me when I was on a bus! I jotted down a few notes at that time but it was a few years later that I actually sat to write it! With so many bus journey stories to share I always knew it would be a long poem, so I guess I just put it off. Unlike all my other poems, this one was not written on one particular day but over several days.
Everything in this poem is a true part of my life. I would love to know the reason why until the day I started school my parents could not take me anywhere without me screaming the place down! The only thing I remember about it all is ‘hiding’ with my arm bent across my face so no one could see me! 🙂 My mum tried everything to console me but eventually discovered it was best to just ignore me! So, this is the only part that I don’t actually remember, but like I say, my parents certainly told me, many times!
The poem that was given to me on a bus is on this blog:Where IsGod? if you would like to read it.
I am a Being of Light and Love Sent to this Earth from above My true self is a Spirit so high I shall not altogether die
I am a part of the Infinite Whole The Light of God contained in my Soul I remember this whatever I try I shall not altogether die
No matter which path in life I choose I will succeed, I never lose Lessons are learned, even from a lie I shall not altogether die
I came here to always do my best Sometimes it seems life is a test But it matters not if I laugh or cry I shall not altogether die
Love and joy are my goals while I’m here Following my intuition, it becomes so clear These are the treasures, so in bliss I sigh I shall not altogether die
Loved ones leave, as I know they must Although I grieve, with faith I trust Our love will unite us, that is why I shall not altogether die
One day my body will cease to be But I know that’s not the end of me I’ll be Aware when my passing is nigh I shall not altogether die
My Soul will journey on and on Through many lives and bodies I’ll don My Spirit growing as the times go by I shall not altogether die
About This Poem
One of my all-time favourite quotes is: You are not a human on a Spiritual journey. You are a Spirit on a human journey. (Pierre Teilhard de Chardin) so this is something I do my best to convey in many of my poems.
I have no doubt what-so-ever that we survive death. In the past I have had many messages through different mediums that were either unusual knowledge of myself or members of my family, or, I was given advice that would have a dramatic affect on my life. I no longer go to Spiritualist Church for various reasons, but I am grateful for all the messages and knowledge I gained over the time that I did.
‘Sympathy’ poems are something I am drawn to and love to write. Death is a large part of life but is not talked about by so many people, it is also mostly considered to be a feared and extremely sad event. My wish with my poems is to bring this topic to everyone, not just to those who are grieving, and to shed light and cheerful acceptance on dying.. for we will all go through it ourselves one day!
I promise to always love you. No matter what you will do or say, my love for you will always be unconditional.
I promise to nurture you. Providing you with love, comfort and security to the best of my abilities.
I promise to always protect you. Your safety and well-being will always be on my mind.
I promise to do my best. I am only human and I will make mistakes, but I will always do the best that I can for you.
I promise to always be there for you. Even later, as the years go by and we grow apart, know that you can always turn to me.
I promise to teach you right from wrong. By my actions you will learn.
I promise to guide you. Throughout your life I will act as your guide, either you will want to do the things that I do or say, or you will not want to do them, because I do!
I promise to be your anchor. When life gets you down, I will be there to hold you and support you.
I promise to let you become independent. As the years pass, I will ease you out into the world.
I promise to not use you as a pawn. If my relationship with your other parent changes, I will always do what’s best for you and not bring my feelings into your relationship with them.
I promise to seek help when I need it. We all need support sometimes, to cope with life’s problems.
I promise to let you find your own path to God. I will show you my way, but you will be guided to your own path.
I promise to teach you tolerance. We are all individuals and cannot always agree, but I will teach by my example to be tolerant.
I promise to teach you empathy for people & animals. By always considering other’s feelings, you will not cause any unnecessary harm.
I promise to teach you the things of real value. Love, Peace, Joy. There are so many simple things in life to enjoy.
I promise to teach you to cherish our planet. By example, you will learn to care for our environment.

About This Poem
Although I had my doubts about the negativity in the Christian religion I was brought up in, when my first child was born I had only just turned 18 and didn’t like to go against the norm, so she was Christened at the age of six months. However, by the time my son came along eight months later I decided to opt out of this family tradition, so he and my next daughter were not Christened.
Moving on to the new millennium, my youngest daughter got married in early 2002 to a man who had been brought up as a Jehovah’s Witness. While dating she did attend some of their services to see if it was something she would wish to join, but soon realized it was definitely not for her! As she was not in the religion they married in a Registry Office. While pregnant with her first child it was obvious this baby was not going to be Christened and we talked about a Naming Ceremony.
Also at that time, my other daughter had been living with a Muslim for a few years, but was not taking on his religion. Different faiths were combining in my family, so I began to think of writing words for a Naming Ceremony. I liked the idea of parents making vows to the precious little Soul new to the world.
I wrote these vows in August 2002, Lucy (my second grandchild) was born at the end of that year, she never had a Naming Ceremony so the vows were not used. But, as always, I kept them for future use.
I always felt it was interesting how different religions were being brought more into my awareness. As a young teenager I was a fan of the Osmonds and because of this took an interest in their religion (Mormons) which also led me to choose Religious Education as an exam subject at school. Now I can see it was all setting me on a path to lead me to where I am now!
We all like to hear the stories Of those whose start in life Is full of negative experiences Neglect, death, worry and strife Of course, that’s not the part we love Compassion for them fills our heart It’s how they have risen to achieve In their life, with such a bad start
Why is it that some with no home Or parents to support them with love Grow up escalating their negative world Life for them is all push and shove But others with just the same life Will seek to develop a family Becoming a parent they shine so bright Radiating so much love, we all can see
Disease and death can come at any time We have no defence to make it stop For those who lose a baby or child Devastation will make their heart drop Why do some never surmount their loss Maybe taking to addictions to fill the gap Others, though never letting go of the love Will see growth and experience unwrap
With the focus in the news on negative There are always crimes to be found So much violence is displayed Our Spirit sinks to the ground Some victims focus on the hurt Revenge filling them with hate Others learn compassionate wisdom Helping others becomes their fate
The stories that many like to hear Are of people with no change to spare But rise to triumph through it all Pointing the way, experience they share J. K. Rowling is a well-known example Of the fairytale of rags to riches By doing the thing she loved Writing stories of wizards and witches
Some learn to navigate the darkness Guided by the Light of someone they love Others find faith in their religion Being linked to their Source up above Friends, mentors, guides near and far Can help so called ‘victims’ reach out Knowing they are not ever alone Helps bring positive change about
I believe what makes a difference Is the attitude these people take Some limit themselves by focusing On what made their hearts break Others will use their experiences To know that’s not who they are It’s just a situation of life To grow from, their aim is far
Everyone of us has to face problems Maybe not at the start, but in time we see A myriad of ways things arise It’s part of life, we have to be Knowing that things will change No matter what comes our way Everything in life can be learned from And nothing will permanently stay
Think of difficult times as growth Seeds planted in your life all around You will get through it some day And flowers of wisdom will be found Instead of ’Why is this happening to me?’ Think of ’What is this trying to teach?’ Be positive as much as possible And a happier life you’ll soon reach
‘I Am Not What Happened To Me I Am What I Choose To Become’ For no matter the trial and test You are truly the only one To change what you think and believe Even little steps each and every day Will change your life for the better It’s down to what you think, do and say

About This Poem
This was the third poem I wrote the other day, but after writing it I had doubts that I would ever share it. My feelings were: Who am I to tell people how to get through bad times when I have not gone through what they have? Yes, I have had problems in my life, but I am very well aware that they are nowhere near as bad as others face. So, I just thought I’d file it away.
However, Source/Universe/Law of Attraction (or whatever you want to call it) had another plan! And this one totally blew me away and so clearly told me to use this poem, no matter my doubts!
It was after I had got the first poem all ready to post with the story of how synchronicity had given me the idea of what to write about it. With it all ready to go, I went to check my emails and had one from Netflix about a new film just added called Breathe. I read the write up and thought I knew the name of the main character, so I read some more and Googled the film to see if it was who I thought.
In 1962 until 1972 (aged 1 to 11) my family lived in a very small village (Drayton St Leonard, Oxfordshire) next door to my father’s parents. I was close to my grandmother and I know I am very much like her. It was truly a blessing that we lived so close for those early years as she died when I was seven. However, before this she worked for a family who lived in a large house in the village. She loved her job as Housekeeper and Cook, being an excellent cook due to spending her younger years in service. The family often had guests visit at weekends so she was kept busy feeding them all. I have memories of going to see her and hanging around waiting for her to finish work! Other fond memories are of going to a fundraising fete hosted by this family in their grounds, and another open day where we could all use their swimming pool. Being so young I don’t remember personally interacting with the family, but I do remember happy smiling faces, even though the father of the family was in a wheelchair and couldn’t move. His name was Robin Cavendish.
The film was about the family and of how when Robin contracted polio at 28, he was paralyzed from the neck down and not given long to live, he could not breathe without artificial help so was doomed to spend the rest of his short life in hospital. However, he and his wife Diana had other ideas, and he went home to live out what was to be a long life! (He died aged 64). Not only was he to become one of the longest living responauts, but he became a tireless advocate for disabled people. He and a friend (Teddy Hall) created the wheelchair that enabled him to lead a life out of bed, he raised money to provide chairs for others like him and went on to help create numerous other devices to provide independence to paralyzed people. He also travelled the world to inspire others and was made an MBE in 1974. (an award given by the Queen for outstanding service). A truly remarkable man!
I was blown away with the timing of receiving this email, about a film just added, of someone I knew when I was younger, who my grandmother worked for, and was a perfect example of what I was trying to convey! As it is from such a long time ago, it was definitely not something on my mind when writing, but now I do wonder about all the significance of the little things in life that we are part of, and the way they instill learning messages into us!
With this outstanding synchronicity I took it as a blessing to share this poem. I also knew that somewhere I had a photograph of the family, as I had scanned many of my mothers photos into my computer. I have thousands of family photos, but very rarely do I keep any of people who are not related, I am pretty sure that this is the only one from my younger years. Whenever I have a sorted through my files – not very often, I must admit – I always wondered why I would never delete this one! And now I know!!!
By the way, I watched the film that evening and thought it was a wonderfully inspiring story. The only thing I knew of that was not portrayed correctly was that the house was IN the village and looked so much better than the one in the film! You can see it in the picture below.
28th July 2018 Since adding this post, I have had a long conversation with my mum about the movie and her memories of this time. She told me that my nan (Evelyn) really loved working for the family, and that she knew (from Evelyn) that the devotion portrayed in the film is 100% true. Evelyn also developed a great friendship with the Nanny (who is in the film). Also, when Jonathan (the son) went to boarding school, although the Nanny was no longer needed, a bungalow was built in the grounds for her to live in.
We are all born shining bright Oozing our pure Divinity Light Babies are a source of loving joy Each and every new girl and boy
As the years pass the Light within dims But remains steadfast, illumined within Waiting for intuition to take a hold Not just doing as we’ve been told
Once we set on our true life-path There’s more to life, we love and laugh Knowing Source will guide our way Our Light grows stronger day-by-day
Our inner Light regains its glow Radiating out always on show Drawing those who think alike Sparks fly as matches strike
All this Light we constantly emit Doesn’t fade, or droop or sit It ignites flying high into the sky Surrounding Earth in the blink of an eye
Always available to those in need The Light is a constant source to feed People whose Light seems to be fading Taking in Light initiates mending
Our capacity to love and share Showing to all we truly care Makes us sparkle and beam United together as a team
Every Light is needed here To eliminate hate and fear We can do this, we are One Together as blinding as the sun
All our Lights together combine To make all of humanity shine Exponentially we excel and grow Together we make the Earth glow
As each Light joins to be a part Of what we came here to start The chains of negativity we break More Souls we will Awake
Your Light is a precious part Of your Soul, felt in your heart So let it out, uncovered, unfurled You Are The Light Of The World!

About This Poem
I wrote this poem straight after Teach Only Love, as with that poem, I didn’t have anything in mind to write for this part. But, it all fell into place after I visited Amira’s blog! (you can read more details onTeach Only Love).
Yesterday as I was writing about Lightworkers, in my comment to Amira, I had forgotten that the previous day I’d written ‘You Are The Light Of The World’ – yes, I know it was in my mind somewhere! but I wasn’t thinking about it. – Later in the day I made a picture with the whole poem, but then realized that by taking just three verses it made a short poem on the Lightworker theme, so following the synchronicities I chose to use this one instead. I don’t think I would of noticed this inner-poem without the connection with Amira.
Teach Only Love To those closest to you Family is a learning core Of bringing love through
Teach Only Love To friends both far and near Love is the strongest connection Give it to all, who you hold dear
Teach Only Love To all the children you meet The future of our world Lies always at their feet
Teach Only Love To each stranger passing by Just a friendly greeting and smile Can uplift a spirit so high
Teach Only Love To all your colleagues at work Kindness will soothe and ease Even those who seem to irk
Teach Only Love To all those who’ve done wrong Forgiveness and compassion Will guide their steps along
Teach Only Love To all animals of land, sea and air No matter what the type Creatures of God deserve your care
Teach Only Love To trees, plants and flowers Nurturing nature enhances life Bringing many blessing showers
Teach Only Love To all landscapes of planet Earth Appreciate all the aspects And know its true worth
Teach Only Love In your ideas of cosmic life One day we will all meet And it is love we want, not strife
Teach Only Love For the law of attraction will bring Your thoughts and beliefs to manifest Creating your world and everything
Teach Only Love It is by example you go far In teaching the love of God For that is truly what you are

About This Poem
As you can see I wrote this poem yesterday, I have been meaning to write a ‘quote’ poem for a very long time now, so yesterday I decided to get on with it! I had a short-list of quotes to choose from and two jumped out at me, both from A Course In Miracles: Teach Only Love For That Is What You Are & You Are The Light Of The World (I will post this tomorrow).
I wrote the poems in my usual way, this one first, and thought of posting it yesterday, but I didn’t have a picture made to go with it, so rather than rush to do this, I chose to leave it till today. So, this morning I began to think of what I could write about for this poem, but I had no idea!
With that on my mind I began to check through my emails, and one was of a post by Amira, a Haiku poem called Space, on reading, I thought of what great timing this was (law of attraction) as my poem had a verse about cosmic life and it has been on my mind to write some poems soon on this topic. I wrote a comment telling Amira I believe we are not alone and went on about Lightworkers, forgetting this linked also to my second poem!
Before ‘meeting’ Amira, and starting this blog, I was hesitant to be open about my thoughts on some topics, and to share poems such asInsight because I know many people would not believe such things. But, since we began this sharing connection, and with all the encouraging comments I have received (onAmira’s blog) it has been far easier for me to be open with the stories of my poems and to just follow my intuition and write anything!
It is so fascinating how we can meet some people and instantly know there is a connection that will develop into more, and even change our lives. This hasn’t happened for a while for me, but I certainly felt this with Amira from the very first email we exchanged! Who knows where our connection will lead?!!! Bless you Amira.
We want our children to be good Do as told, and as they should We give rules and we instil Our beliefs, their minds we fill With all the ways that we know how To live as best, in these times now
From the moment of their birth And for all their days on Earth Our one hope above the rest Through all joys and times of test Is that they will be happy every day No matter what will come their way
We all wish them lives of love Some wish alignment with above We all want them to be healthy Some wish them to be wealthy But all these are not true worth Without happiness and mirth
Making them happy seems the way To please them each and every day Giving all we can to their joy Buying each a brand new toy Not having much time to spend On making a living we do depend
The cycle of life continues on Before too long the child is gone Now an adult the world will see But your child they’ll always be Still you long for joy and happiness Their life to be full of purest bliss
However, you know life will impart Many arrows deep into their heart Each one’s shadow will hit you too Because they are a part of you You give your love and support Wishing more you could have taught
If I knew then, what I know now So different I’d be, I would allow My Inner Guidance to show the way To all I think, and do, and say My children I know I guide By my ‘Being,’ I cannot hide
Back then, I know I did my best So I can lay my past to rest Now time moves on, flashes by I have more to give, I can but try Showing other generations a way My words of truth I yearn to display
We cannot make them be Open your mind and you’ll see Everything we are, they will take And with that, they will make Our attitude and feeling core Will open their life-path door
Children are the greatest treasures Our lives continuing measures Of all we are and will achieve Growing on from what we believe How we live, what we are What guides us, near and far Our hopes, our loves, our goal How much we follow our Soul
The greatest gift we can give To our children is to live Always guided by our Light Our Inner Knowing shining bright Giving it strength by positive thought It is by example children are taught Be their map for a life of joy For every precious girl and boy

About This Poem
I write poems using inspirational quotes for my website: Spiritual Quotes To Live By. After praying for guidance I write what flows, but sometimes once the poem is finished, I know I need to write another one using the same quote. This was one of those times.
The full quote from Oscar Wilde is: The Best Way To Make Children Good Is To Make Them Happy. I have cut it short for this poem just to differentiate between the two.
The first poem (to be added) focuses more on how children learn by example but also have their own inner guidance. I felt I needed to write more to include how wanting our children to be happy is something that continues throughout their, and our, lives. – Even my parents, still say all they want is for their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to be happy. – I also wanted to write a more personal poem.
As we grow older and look back at our children’s childhoods it is so easy to see the mistakes we’ve made and to wish we could have done things differently, but to have inner peace we have to accept that we did the best with what we knew at that time.
I share some of my poems with others in my family, especially if I write a personal one for them, but most are not on the same wavelength, yet! Which is one of the reasons I write, someday they may see and know that they were my inspiration.
Of all the words to remember This is so important and true No matter what you are doing There is great love here for you
For the Source of All-That-Is Loves us all unconditionally If we open our hearts to receive it Love flows to us effortlessly
There is nothing we could do That would ever stop the flow We are given our birthright of freewill Regardless of anything, God loves us so
If only we could do as shown And give to all our unconditional love We would raise our vibrations up so high The Earth would become as Heaven above
Trina Graves – 18th May 2011
About This Poem
‘There is great love here for you’ is stated at the end of every Abraham-Hicks session, so if you are someone who often listens or watches Abraham speak through Esther Hicks, (as I do) it is something that sticks in your mind, which is why when I began to write Abraham-Hicks quote poems it was an obvious choice.
I think it is such an important truth to fully comprehend that no matter who we are or what we could ever do, God/Source/All-That-Is (or whatever name you wish to use) will eternally love us unconditionally. That love is always present and always flowing to us, only we are the ones who block it with our limiting thoughts and beliefs.
God is in the flowers God is in the trees God is in the butterflies And the birds and bees
God is in the sunshine God is in the storm God is in the snow and frost That makes you wrap up warm
God is in the good God is in the bad God is in what makes you happy And what makes you sad
God is everywhere you look And everywhere you go God is your best friend always Because God loves you so

About This Poem
On a sunny May morning in 2000, I was staring out of the window on a bus travelling through the countryside of Oxfordshire, just appreciating the beautiful views, and these words just came into my head. I knew the simple words were for children and I would one day share them. Previous to this I had only ever written two things and they were not poems, so this was unusual for me. When I arrived at work, I was thinking about the poem and the first customer to walk into the photography shop was a man wearing a very large cross around his neck. I took this as a sign telling me the words were truly inspired from spirit. When I returned home later that day, I had no problem remembering the words to write out.
The concept that God was in the ‘bad’ was relatively new to me, only coming across it not long before in the book ‘Conversations With God’ by Neale Donald Walsch. I had found his books very enlightening and thought provoking, this concept was one I was learning to digest. Previous to this I always believed (as taught) there were two sides: good and bad, or, God and devil. But, at that time I didn’t really think about it and just put the poem away.
Over the years I gained greater understanding through the Law Of Attraction, mainly as taught by Abraham-Hicks, and found out that God truly is in ALL things. There is no source of evil or bad, it’s just that we are in the habit of blocking the ever-present flow of goodness. How much we allow or block affects our degree of perceived love or fear. Even in the darkest of times and in the people who may be seen as evil, there is always a spark of light buried within.

Before writing a poem I pray for guidance But today, I still couldn’t get the theme So I decided to visit my tranquil beach Where my answers are revealed in a dream
This simple, insightful tool I discovered Many years ago in a Betty Shine book Meeting my Guide at my peaceful place Counsel I’d always get, if the time I took
By just letting whatever images flow Without blocking them by my thought My questions are always answered And wise guidance to me is brought
My first ever visit to The Beach In summer of 99, I soon forgot But years later I found my notes Understanding then hit the spot
I had gone to seek the ultimate answer Of what I was here in this life to do I walked bare-foot on the sandy beach And was met by someone I never knew
I didn’t have to ask his name ‘James’ just slipped into my mind He was about my age, in a robe Serene, gentle, loving and kind
We were looking out at the ocean He said “It’s a vast world out there” Then he turned me around to the beach And hundreds of people were everywhere
They were rushing around in fast motion As if watching fast-forward on TV James told me to hold love in my heart And reach out to touch someone carefully
As I touched someone they stopped Relaxed, slowly moving on, smiling at me I was told that by touching people’s lives I could set them on their path to God naturally
James asked me to do it again This time a child stopped as I reached out “Children are easier to bring back to God They haven’t strayed as far,” without a doubt
At the time of that very first meeting I wasn’t ready to ‘hear’ or understand The momentous, insightful wisdom Available to all and so easily at hand
So, getting back to my visit today James met me on the beach as before Immediately, I knew what my theme would be The Beach and what I came here for

About This Poem
This is one of the experiences of my life where I received something, but never understood or appreciated its meaning for many years – as another poem says: You Only Hear What You Are Ready To Hear.
I am truly grateful for a message I received at a Spiritualist Church in May 1994, I had only gone a few times before and different mediums had given me a couple of messages from unknown sources, but this one was different. Not only was I given his name, but the medium described how, for the last few years of his life, this person had to stand leaning over against a chair/table just to be able to breathe a little easier. She also described his personality exactly right, so I had no doubt that it was my uncle, who had emphysema and died in January 1992.
The main point of the message was that I should write everything down, because one day I would need it! I had on-and-off kept a diary, so I tried my best to continue. But, I would always write down on bits and pieces of paper anything that I thought relevant or unusual that occurred. Without this advice I would not have re-discovered earlier experiences to learn and grow from.. and also write poems about!
When I originally carried out this visualization exercise in 1999, I just thought it was interesting and (following the advice) wrote it down and put it away. I’m not sure when it was I recovered the notes – I probably have it written down somewhere! – but I do remember feeling totally amazed, not only in the words and understanding their significance, but also in wondering why I never realized it before! I typed out the story on a photograph of a beach and placed it where I could see it often, to remind me of why I am here.
I have taken other trips to the beach (and other locations) in visualizations and had some more interesting encounters, but I don’t do it very often as I don’t feel the need and think it would make it less remarkable.
They have gone alone on a journey To the most exotic faraway land They’ll see crystal clear, vast seas As they walk along soft golden sand
They can explore dense areas of forest Abundant with magnificent plants and trees Or stroll through a quaint picturesque village Basking in the sights and the pleasant breeze
They might be feeling adventurous And go climbing to majestic mountain tops The view with be spectacularly awesome Surrounded by the beauty that never stops
They might just want to sit and chat Catching-up with a friend they have missed Or, once again feel the loving embrace Of a beloved, and be joyfully kissed
With no limits of health to stop them And absolutely no chance of difficulty They can do anything they desire or wish Being their true selves and ultimately free
They took all they needed with them Backpacking, they didn’t need much Off-the-grid, but I don’t need to worry As it seems, they may not keep in touch
I will lovingly think of them often, but continue With my own life, knowing each and every day They are experiencing an awesome adventure Now young at heart, they can relax and play
One day I will put on my backpack Filled with all my experiences and love And I too will take the final journey We will be re-united in Paradise above

About This Poem
For a long while now I have liked to think of death as though the people we know and love have gone on holiday/vacation and it’s as though we have gone back to a period of time when we could not so easily contact them – being older this is easily remembered! So this idea has cropped up a few times in my poems.
I know the ‘backpacking’ was on my mind because my oldest granddaughter and her girlfriend were going backpacking in Asia mid-June for a few months. I awoke one morning with ‘Backpacking In Paradise’ on my mind and it kept coming back to me. It seemed a very fitting idea to use for a sympathy poem, because when we do leave there is not much we can take with us for our adventure ahead, except for the love, experiences and wisdom we have gathered – from giving and receiving – during our lifetime.
Before we were both born We lived in a beautiful place So different from this world we know With no limits of time and space
We didn’t need a body To contain our energy We were free to explore ourselves In any way we’d like to be
We were just the same back then Not a child and their parent We were Beings of Love and Light Both powerful and magnificent
We had shared many lives before this one It’s so much fun to change things around You’ve been my brother, sister, parent, friend The different ways to be, that we had found
For this life that we are in now We talked about what we would like to do We were ready to remember who we really are And live our lives bringing spiritual love through
We knew that this would be quite difficult In a world of limits, near and far Our goal would be to become Awake To the truth of who we really are
This time you chose me to be your parent To love, guide you and help you see The wonderful, powerful person you are Creating your world with love energy
From you my child I would learn so much About unconditional love You came into my life to teach me As an angel sent from up above
I only want what is best for you But sometimes I can make a mistake Like you I am learning to do my best Together we will Awake

About This Poem
I think I was 11 years old when I began to question the religion I knew. (Christianity) I had been told (I can’t remember who by) that babies who were not Christened couldn’t be buried in a churchyard and this just didn’t make any sense to me. How could a pure innocent baby, newly entering this world, not be accepted by God? And then I remember pondering over the question of where are we before we are born? So, when I started to write some Spiritual Poems for children this was the first one I wanted to cover.
I am a firm believer in reincarnation, it just makes perfect sense and I have heard and read so many different stories of it over the years. I especially like the stories of young children who talk about past lives. I have been known to ask my grandchildren, once they were old enough to talk well, ‘Where were you before you were born?’ And, ‘Who were you before?’ but so far have not had any interesting answers! But, thinking about this now, I haven’t asked the more recent additions to the family, so I must do that!
The hearts on the picture below represent my three children (in this life!) and their offspring.
We all have countless troubles to face Through our lives, whether young or old Even those we perceive to be immune Harbour burdens, if their truth be told All Is Well With My Soul
I grew up no different from others I too, had problems and doubt But ‘Everything Happens For A Reason’ Was the belief I clung to throughout All Is Well With My Soul
My children were my joyful anchor I lived each day blessed by their light Without them my boat would have sunk Negativity all around, was hard to fight All Is Well With My Soul
I questioned, why are we here? Why is there suffering and hate? How can innocent children be hurt Surely, it’s not just about fate? All Is Well With My Soul
Once I set foot on my Spiritual Path Things began to change for me, all around I didn’t realize for quite some time It was ‘The Law Of Attraction’ I had found All Is Well With My Soul
Looking back now, my path was long For many years I hesitantly plod Now I see all the signs along the way Showing me my own pathway to God All Is Well With My Soul
My Soul, my Centre, my Essence Has always been aware and awake Even at my lowest of low It still shone, for my own sake All Is Well With My Soul
Hate is required to learn forgiveness Darkness is essential to perceive light Loss is necessary to appreciate love My Soul brought me through my night All Is Well With My Soul
We come to experience it all God Sparks within us, we create In our unlimited world of free will We choose what’s to be, not fate All Is Well With My Soul
I am now focused on love and light Blind to the negative others choose I let go of trying to control anyone The true game of life is impossible to lose All Is Well With My Soul
I know there will not always be calm seas Twists and turns may lay in my path ahead But I came to live in this divergent world of choice To anchor and shine my light, wherever I tread All Is Well With My Soul
The All-That-Is, Source Energy is my anchor My life-jacket of love and light keep me afloat Whatever waves may toss and turn in my life I choose to remain calm in my aligned boat All Is Well With My Soul
The ending of my path is ahead somewhere At least for this life, as me, playing my part But I know the love and light I have shone Continues in my Soul, as it did from the start All Is Well With My Soul
No matter what has happened or will be My Soul keeps centred and whole The positive and the negative… All Is Well With My Soul

About This Poem
Although not brought up as a regular church-goer, I always loved uplifting hymns. My primary school was next door to Dorchester Abbey so we would often go and sing in the Abbey. One of my favourite memories of childhood is singing Christmas carols while looking at the magnificent stained glass windows of the Abbey.
As an adult, for a few years, I occasionally went to various Spiritualist Churches and had some amazing proof of life after death, but one of the things I most enjoyed were the hymns, they were always joyous, uplifting ones and I just found it so inspiring singing along with others.
So, on my Spiritual Quotes To Live By website, the words of uplifting hymns were something I wanted to include. When I was compiling the page I thought it would be good to add some videos, so I Googled and searched, looking for the right ones. During my search I discovered a whole new genre of music I never knew existed, I’m not sure of the right title but I call them Modern Hymns. I began to listen to them almost everyday and one in particular stood out to me: It Is Well by Kristene DiMarco, based on the original hymn of Horatio Spafford, It Is Well With My Soul.
The quote kept coming back to me, so I wrote it down on my list of quotes to use for poems. However, when I sat to write the poem ‘It’ is well didn’t seem right and I kept wanting to use ‘All’ instead. I knew that Louise Hay used ‘All Is Well’ often in her work, and by doing some research I found that the quote went all the way back to Julian of Norwich 1342 – 1416.
I went ahead and wrote the poem in my usual way – praying and asking for guidance first – but when I’d finished I still wasn’t sure about IT or ALL. So I just put it away, knowing that I would know which when the time was right. I came across the poem in a pile of paperwork a couple of weeks later, read it through and knew instantly it was to be: ALL Is Well With My Soul.
Thousands of years have gone by With many Master-Beings from on High Sent down to teach the people of Earth The Message they knew at their birth Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha are the same Although to different peoples they came Their Message through centuries echo But at our core we already know We are ONE ~ Beings of Love and Light We are ONE ~ Love is the Way to Unite
Watching over your life and mine Are Celestial Beings from the Divine With hearts of gold and wings of pure white Unconditional Love is their Heavenly delight We each have our own Guardian Angel too Always at our side to guide us through Whispering gently into our inner ear The Message, we already know, so clear We are ONE ~ Beings of Love and Light We are ONE ~ Love is the Way to Unite
There have always been people around Who through their own life path have found The Message, wanting to show and convey To others, so they can find their own way They bring forth the wisdom and sing God’s praise Gurus, Teachers, Authors, there are many ways To teach what we already believe in our heart The Message they lived their life to impart We are ONE ~ Beings of Love and Light We are ONE ~ Love is the Way to Unite
All around us and everywhere Is another dimension, always there Where we come from and we will go At the end of this life, an eternal flow Spirit is our true and pure essence Opening up we can feel their presence Showing us The Message anyway they can We came already knowing the plan We are ONE ~ Beings of Love and Light We are ONE ~ Love is the Way to Unite
Star Seeds and Indigos are names given To some children who are now living Among us, bringing their insightfulness Showing The Way, our lives are blessed But also children with a ‘special need’ Are here to teach, our hearts to heed For they bring The Message loud and strong There never is anything with us ‘wrong’ We are ONE ~ Beings of Love and Light We are ONE ~ Love is the Way to Unite
We all have a connection to our Source Remembering this we can stay on course But we tend to get pulled by Earth’s density Spiralling down, tangled in the nitty-gritty Recognizing this is a lesson to learn And then to our Inner Guidance we can turn The more we connect, the stronger we’ll be And The Message we’ll remember and see We are ONE ~ Beings of Love and Light We are ONE ~ Love is the Way to Unite
Embodying The Message our lives will arrange The course of history to make a great change No wars or conflicts, expressing we are One What we do to another, to our-self is done We do not have to agree on everything Respecting diversity, the truth will bring Enlightenment to our heart and mind To everyone we’ll be loving and kind We are ONE ~ Beings of Love and Light We are ONE ~ Love is the Way to Unite
Human Beings come in all colours and size Living The Message we open our eyes To seeing the beauty in One and All Negative filters of the mind’s eye will fall Being The Message the veil is raised No more shadows will be cast on our days Setting love as our moment-to-moment priority We’d be living in joyous, peace and beauty We are ONE ~ Beings of Love and Light We are ONE ~ Love is the Way to Unite
I Am One ~ United with you God is Love flowing through

About This Poem
As you can see from the date of this poem, it was just before Christmas. I had written a couple of Christmas poems a few days earlier but wanted to write another, so as usual, I prayed and asked for guidance and immediately I knew the title was The Message. I then asked for ‘the message’ and after writing it down I knew it was going to be included with each verse. I then wrote the rest. With the last little bit on the end I was unsure whether to include this, but after questioning myself, I knew it was part of the poem.

About This Poem
I, like many others around the world, felt a change when the wonderful Wayne Dyer made his transition to the other side. His loving presence is now so much closer to us all. From his humble beginnings to becoming the world-renowned author and spiritual teacher, he was, and still is, a source of abundant love, wisdom and inspiration.
I love so many of his enlightening quotes and this one was an easy choice to use for a poem. I began with a list of ideas to cover, obviously music was the first and I also wanted to include websites and writing to remind myself to ‘get on with it!’ I have a close friend who is an artist so that gave me another verse, and performers of stage and screen were an obvious option. The rest just came out in the writing.
I believe we are all here for a reason, whether it’s to become known worldwide or just in a small family group, it makes no difference – everyone is important and has a vital part to play in this game of life.
A baby contains an inherent, infinite Light That shines so brightly from it’s Soul Vividly luminous with Source Energy We’re captivated, adoring beyond control
Time advances, the baby becomes a child The Divine illumination begins to dim Their link to Source has been shadowed By the negativity they have taken in
As the child goes out into the big-wide world School and society’s control gets a strong-hold ‘Bright Sparks’ may seem to be encouraged But they too, must fit into the defined mould
Adolescence then adulthood urges onwards By now most Inner Lights have been blocked Conforming to everyone, but not their own desires Keeps the door to their Soul firmly locked
But remember, there is nothing wrong about this We planned our whole journey right from the start By learning to follow our own Inner Guidance in life We would retrieve the Light through our heart
One of life’s immense joys is parenthood Overwhelming gifts this path can bring Unconditional love its purest treasure Lifting the Spirit, the Soul will truly sing
Whatever path we choose to take No one else will be on the same It’s so important to remember this When focusing on your child’s aim
The Light inside them is also a compass It can guide them their whole life through Teaching them to choose right from wrong Inner Guidance is always clear in what to do
Their Light Compass will always be there If ever they have any troubles or doubt What to do about it, which path to take Their Inspiring Light will always shine out
Learning to use and trust their intuition Connecting to their own Source Energy Light Is the greatest blessing you can ever give them And by example is the only way to teach it right

About This Poem
Sometimes I come across a quote that I just know I need to make into a poem. I write it down in my notepad that I keep just for my poems. – I prefer to hand-write in pencil first of all, I have tried typing straight away but it just doesn’t feel right! – I also keep a list on the front inside cover of any titles or ideas that come to me, this happens most often upon first waking. Anyway, this quote from Wayne Dyer was one that I knew would be a poem.
With this title the poem was obviously going to be about letting children use their own intuition, to be connected to their own inner light rather than follow the guidance of others, even though it is thought to be in their best interest.
After praying and asking for guidance my thoughts drifted to how babies are so mesmerizing as if we are under their spell and I realized it is because they exude Source, they are pure beings of light. But then why does that change? Why do we enter this world as the true beings we are but then become so much less? I hope this poem sheds some light on this and show that the only way to teach them to follow their own compass it to follow our own.
My physical eyes have limited sight Filters of thought and belief blur my view But if I look Through The Eyes Of Source I will see everything clearly and true
To look through with the Eyes Of Source I first need to change and lighten my mind I let go of any not-good feeling thoughts And think ones that feel better and kind
I talk to myself about things that are good And things that I really appreciate Then as I feel that upliftment in me Through The Eyes Of Source I will vibrate
Looking Through The Eyes Of Source It is easy to appreciate and expand By noticing all the beauty there is Wherever my enchanted gaze may land
Walking outside with Mother Nature Using the Eyes Of Source as my looking glass My vision sometimes gets blurred with tears At the intense magnificence of everything I pass
With the colours, shapes, size and variety Of the infinite abundance of nature’s forms From the majestic tall trees to a daisy in the grass Looking Through The Eyes Of Source, my heart warms
In every face there is a simple beauty The Eyes Of Source will always see Wrinkled, scarred – it matters not Even looking in a mirror at me
The intoxication I feel has seeped into my life I am now selective on where my focus will be I’ve lost interest in looking with my dull ‘human’ eyes As Through The Eyes Of Source I now choose to see

About This Poem
In 2012 I used this quote for a poem, but when a few years later I decided to compile a page on my website (Spiritual Quotes To Live By) of Abraham-Hicks quote poems, I was not entirely happy with it, so I decided to write another. I particularly wanted to include this quote as it is an easy reminder for following the Law Of Attraction. I wanted to convey how our thoughts and beliefs affect what we see and also give some guidance on using the Law Of Attraction.
I must admit, I was blind to the magnificence of nature before 2010, the only time I looked through the eyes of Source was when looking at babies and children (especially my own.) It was the teachings of Abraham-Hicks that made me begin my website (doing something I loved to do) which then led me on to taking nature photos for quotes. I remember well the first walk I went on with my new eyes! Before it would have been my grandchildren in all the photographs, but I was awestruck with the simplest of things. It was on that day I took the photograph of a dandelion seed-head that I use as my logo. I had never really looked closely at one before and was amazed at the sheer perfection!
With each new day as I awoke Like a spark I’d remember you were here A smile would warm my face and heart Those moments I treasure, so clear
I counted the weeks as they passed by Your presence I felt growing strong My joy and excitement thinking of you Those moments I treasure my life long
You wriggled and kicked more powerfully each month My body stretching as it nurtured your growth Blossoming too was my complete devotion to you Those moments I treasure, unconditional love my oath
Then the moment arrived for us to meet face-to-face Time stood still with a tangible sense of awe The miracle of pregnancy and birth is a blessing in life Those moments I treasure forever more
Now the years have passed and you are grown But my memory of pure Bliss can still bring a tear When you were first place in my arms That moment I treasure most dear
You are: my Joy, my Precious, my Beloved, my Life I’ve loved you unconditionally right from the start Though life separates us, our love continues and unites Our moments I treasure – Eternally you are part of my heart

About This Poem
For all the special occasions I often write poems for my parents and put them in home-made cards using photographs of the family, they love this and with each one I do it seems they are more over-joyed. So, just before Mother’s Day in 2015, I sat to write a poem for my mum. However, after praying for guidance this poem was the result!
I was taken back, many years, to the excited feeling as I awoke and suddenly remembered I was pregnant, I loved being pregnant so this was a delight each morning. So, I just had to put that into words and then the rest of the poem followed on.
I gave my two daughters a print of the poem on a photo of me holding them as babies for Mother’s Day, as they are mother’s too.
“Why did you come here?” I asked the daisy As I lay on the grass feeling dreamy and lazy The answer just appeared in my mind “I came to add to the beauty you’d find.”
“Why did you come here?” I asked the bee Flying so fast I could hardly see The bee turned and started to fly more slow “I came to help the flowers grow.”
“Why did you come here?” I asked the ant As it ran across the beautiful plant “I was alone, but now life’s a dream, I came to work as part of a team.”
“Why did you come here?” I asked the cat As she clawed away on the fireside mat She looked right into my eyes with a stare “I came to help you become Aware.”
“Why did you come here?” I asked little Lucky Our precious, playful Labrador puppy “I told you before, when we were in heaven above, I came to give you unconditional love.”
“Why did you come here?” I asked my teacher When showing my carefully painted picture She thought for a moment and began to say “I came to guide you along the way.”
Why did you come here?” I asked the old man Who was sat in the park and getting a tan. The man smiled at me and said, “Ever since my birth I came to enjoy my life here on this Earth.”
Why did I come here? I wanted to know Then all these things I attracted to show I came to… Find beauty, enjoy life, help, guide and share Unconditional Love and become Aware.

About This Poem
I wanted to write some spiritual poems for children to use on my website (Spiritual Quotes To Live By) so I wrote down a few ideas of subjects I wanted to cover: Where do we come from? Why are we here? Law Of Attraction etc..
I prayed and asked for guidance and then wrote a poem called Before We Were Born. I usually only write one poem at a time, but after finishing this one I knew I needed to write more and wanted to do a poem from a child’s point of view. Why Did You Come Here? was the result – it just flowed so easily without much thought or hesitation and I was amazed how in the last verse it all came together from the endings of the others. This was not planned or thought about by me at all. It is when I write a poem such as this one that I really believe my words are guided.
This is one of my favourites of my poems, I just love the simple way it brings together the Law Of Attraction with why we are here. By the way, the girl in the photo is my granddaughter Lucy.
Even though we are all one We’re also individuals too Which means we are each unique Looking at life with our perceptional view
It seems our lives are moulded In so many different ways But the truth is we are the source of it all With our own thoughts we create our days
You only hear what you are ready to hear Many people are not open to see Whatever is going on in their lives They created their own reality
But all is not lost by such words The seed is planted and you will find One day in the future, something will ‘click’ And the truth will blossom in their mind

About This Poem
This quote has been a much learned teaching in my life, for example…
In 2006 I was looking for a book to take on holiday and rather than a novel I was drawn to a book called ‘Ask And It Is Given’ by Esther & Jerry Hicks, it was one of those times that I knew I had to buy THIS book and not any other. I read most of it on holiday and thought it was interesting, but I obviously wasn’t quite ‘ready to hear.’
I had been learning of the Law Of Attraction through various others, most especially Neale Donald Walsch and Eileen Caddy, but it was to be Abraham-Hicks that really set me on my path to changing my perceptions and attitude.
At some point between 2006 and 2009 I had discussed this Law Of Attraction and the idea that you create your own life with a very close (spiritually-aware) friend, although she didn’t tell me till years later, she was very upset that I would tell her she had created the problems in her life (I obviously never explained it very well!) I had also mentioned to her about the film ‘The Secret.’
On a visit to me in 2010 she was very enthusiastic about a film another friend had told her about, she told me I really must watch it, and went on to tell me that she now understood what I had tried to tell her a long time before, but at that time she found deeply upsetting. The film was called.. The Secret!
But what makes it all the more interesting, to me, is that this was a catalyst bringing me back with greater awareness and eagerness to explore and learn all I could about the teachings of Abraham.
Since I began to fully understand and implement their teachings my perceptions and attitude towards everything in life (and death) have changed for the better. I am now living each day in joy, happy with where I am in each moment, and eagerly allowing life to bring me more evidence of joy.
Although Spirituality and the Law Of Attraction are, for me now, an essential part of my life, I rarely talk to my family, friends etc.. about them. I now know that the best thing I can do is to live my life to be an example for them. Of course, if they show an interest or ask questions I will share. One of the reasons I love to write my poems, do my Spiritual Quotes To Live By website and share my inspirational photo-quotes is that I know I am providing the knowledge for when they (or anyone else who is drawn to it) are ready to hear what I have to say!
While we are sleeping We let go of physicality To experience our true form Of Spirit, unlimited and free We can go anywhere at all With no limits of time or space Explore our magnificent Universe Or our past-lives we can re-trace
While we are sleeping The concept of time disappears Losing all of its boundaries Only to the physical it adheres After closing our eyes to sleep It seems only minutes have gone by When many hours later we awaken And adapt to times apparent lie
While we are sleeping The door is open wide To step through and appreciate The world on the other side Our Spirit leaves our body Resting peacefully in our bed We’re attached by a silver cord It only breaks when we are dead
While we are sleeping Our true self guides the way We regain our pure perspective And digest the current day Although plentiful things transpire Remembering only happens to a few But just because we have forgotten Doesn’t mean it isn’t true
While they are sleeping Those nearing their life’s end Are making preparations To more easily comprehend The letting go of this world And moving on to better things They are more likely to remember The messages ‘sleeping’ brings
While we are sleeping We can visit those we love Here, or those departed Transitioned to the Above Sometimes we can recall A ‘dream’ of those who’ve died Our love unites us forever Meeting eases tears we’ve cried
While we are sleeping Some give assistance in many ways Helping others make their transition At the ending of their days Or being with someone who’s down Needing an uplifting smile that’s all We are all linked together Supporting each other forevermore
While they are sleeping Babies bask in Spirituality New to physical restrictions Their Souls requisite to be free Growing so fast requires sleep As their minds and bodies change Over years time works its wonders And sleeping patterns rearrange
While we are sleeping Our body’s cells all adjust Unhindered by limiting thoughts It’s why sleeping is a must Our bodies can miraculously heal And sleep plays a crucial part In recovery from disease or wounds To mind, body and emotional heart
While we are sleeping We connect to our Higher-Self And can take the opportunity To assess our abundant wealth In the multiple aspects of life Our goal is to constantly do our best Our Higher-Self knows the plan Enlightening us when we’re at rest
While we are sleeping Our Guides are always there To support and give assistance Because they truly care They chose to be with us For our life here on this Earth Always giving loving guidance Before and since our birth
While we are sleeping Heavenly Angels gather around Pure, Divine Beings of Light To us mortals they are bound Giving constant unconditional love Helping us reach our goals So, While We Are Sleeping Angels Have Conversations With Our Souls

About This Poem
This is one of the poems where, after praying and asking for guidance, I first wrote down a list of the ideas for each verse: being in Spirit, concept of time, visiting those passed on etc..
Some of the basis of this poem comes from my experiences…
I have been told by family members of how when some of there loved ones were nearing death they had vivid dreams of: climbing, crossing over, leaving family – but always knowing what they were moving onto was good or better.
Many years ago, at a Spiritualist church the medium spoke of how many people spend their sleeping hours working on the other side. She talked to one woman about the love and comfort she was giving to babies that she cuddled each night. I loved this idea and the thought of it stuck with me.
I have dreamt of what I believe are passed lives.
The verse about babies being new to physical restrictions and therefore needing more sleep to be free, was not something I ‘thought’ about, but once written made so much sense to me, so it is my favourite verse from this poem.
At the bus stop, passing time in my solitary thoughts My gaze rested upon some nearby empty ground There was nothing much at all to see, it seemed Some grass, soil and stones were all my eyes found
Nothing changed over those cold winter months As each week I waited patiently and surveyed When rain fell soaking the earth, I noticed Muddy puddles developed, where children played
As the days began to get a little longer They became brighter and warmer too I began to notice a change on the ground Signs of life were starting to break through
The weeks went by as Spring finally arrived Some days of rain, but mostly warm and bright Various shades of green shoots covered the ground Although different, united in seeking the light
Showers of petals from nearby blossoming trees Cascaded upon me as I gazed at the ground Gone now the blankness of winter past Abundant foliage and flowering buds I found
I’ll never forget that summers day I arrived My senses were blasted by the sheer power Of an awesome scene of vibrant colour and beauty The Amen of nature is always a flower

About This Poem
This was the first time I wrote a poem for my blog. On that day, after writing my thoughts on the quote, my thoughts wandered to when I lived in a village that had a long walk to the bus stop and the idea of this poem came to me. When I write in ‘first person’ it is almost always a true part of my life, this poem is one of the exceptions, but it is based on my experiences.
While looking back through my previous blogs, in December 2016, I came across this poem and thought it would be a good idea – and an interesting challenge – to change the way I did my blog, so I began to write inspirational poems for each quote, rather than my thoughts on the quote or photograph.
Oh, the things I have felt For over a hundred years From bountiful joys of nature To the sorrow of human tears
When I was first planted here There wasn’t much else around A field of grass, some trees like me A few upright stones on the ground
As I grew tall and strong Yielding as each season passed The people came and went Always mournful and downcast
My wisdom grew with time As my roots delved into the Earth I also connected to the sun above All-That-Is pronounced my worth
The ever-flowing abundant life Birds, foliage, butterflies, bees Most people never-ever noticed Oh, please! BEHOLD us trees
We are the inherent Guardians of Earth Filtering and providing more than they see The original network, our roots underground We may seem static, but we are truly free
The empty field that once surrounded my youth Is now filled with hundreds of stones Becoming more ornate over the years But still, just mark the position of bones
I absorb the waves of sadness that flow From the people visiting a stone If they let me, I can help them For we are One and never alone
I sense the Spirit of their loved one They block the energy by thinking them gone My leaves whisper the truth on the breeze ‘They are beside you, they do live on’

About This Poem
From the age of six until I married, my family would spend the summer Sunday afternoons in various villages throughout the Oxfordshire countryside. My father belonged to a cricket club, so we all went along to enjoy and afternoon out. While the men played cricket, the woman chatted and the children played. My mum also liked to take a walk around the villages, especially to visit their church and grounds. I didn’t realize it back then, of course, but this was to develop into something I would enjoy doing for the rest of my life.
I now love to visit old churches and graveyards, especially to see the beautiful trees that are always present in these tranquil grounds. So, when I began to take nature photographs to compile my photo-quotes this was obviously a wonderful source for me.
Last week I had to take my car to have some work done, nearby there was a graveyard (no church though) that I had not visited before, so I decided to go and hang out there while I waited. It was a beautiful sunny day and after walking around – taking lots of photos – I sat in the shade to bask in the glorious view of trees.
Personally, I believe graves are an old tradition that in our more enlightened times are no longer needed. But, I respect that others can find comfort in visiting their loved ones marker. I do not find them at all depressing because I choose to think of all the love that has been brought to the site, for hundreds of years!
So, as I sat there, just across from me was this tall tree surrounded by gravestones. I thought about what it has viewed over the years and decided to write a poem, luckily I had pen and paper with me. And this is what I wrote.
Dear Mummy and Daddy, No matter what happens between us, during my childhood I will love you unconditionally.
You are my guide, my support, my lifetime anchor… for whatever becomes of me depends on our time together.
From you I will learn what love is. I will learn to be confident or shy, giving or selfish, loving or cruel. I will learn what is right and wrong, who I should respect and whether I should love and respect myself.
As I come into this world, into your tender care, I am a pure, clean sponge. I will soak up every look, every touch, every thought, every word, every feeling and they will mould me into the person that I will become.
So in the days, weeks, months and years ahead – please remember that – every thought, feeling, word, touch, and look… I will absorb.
If you treat me with love, caring, respect, tolerance, forgiveness and understanding – even when I do things wrong – then I will grow up into a kind, considerate, confident, loving, responsible, happy child and adult.
But if you treat me with intolerance, uncaring, harshness, words of anger and neglect… I will be… sad.

About This Poem
This was my first poem, apart from the words I wrote in 1993 (see: About This Blog). I wrote it the day my first grandchild was born on 22nd December 1997. I sat to write some words for the congratulations card to my son and his girlfriend, but instead these words just flowed out. I never gave it to them, but just filed it away!
Back then I had not heard of the Law Of Attraction, so I was amazed many years later when I pulled it out and found I had been writing about it so long before. Also, in the past few years I have been reading the work of people like scientist Bruce Lipton who now teach that children do indeed absorb everything, with no filters, for the first six years.
